“I can't make brisket like that!!! You're in for a treat if you eat at The Shack. My brisket was juicy, moist and seasoned perfectly. After eating the huge pile of meat, I tried my two sides beans, and coleslaw. The beans had chunks of brisket and just the right amount of spice. The coleslaw was fresh, and crunchy with the perfect flavor. If you're the kind of person that appreciates authentic local BBQ joints look no further.”

“I cannot say enough good things about this little homestyle cafe. It is not very big. The food here is absolutely fantastic.. We got there a little late for lunch. So we were the last ones in the restaurant before they closed down at 2.. The owner came out of the kitchen and introduced himself and was very pleasant. His little grandson, was there. Who's about 1 year old. And when the owner said he was the owner and cook. I said I thought the little guy that just left was the owner. And he laughed and said yeah he is. The atmosphere is truly unique. Bible scriptures in versus all over the walls and the tables. All the help where's christian t shirts. And every single person that works there is the most pleasant and charming people you would ever want to meet. I give it my highest recommendation.”

“They have a pretty good hamburger here. I feel like I’m kind of a hamburger snob. I haven’t been able to find too many places in Lubbock that has a really good mom and pop diner type burger feel to it. But they have a pretty good burger here.”

“Great food and atmosphere. Had 8 people in our party, and the hostess just had a hard time keeping our drinks filled. Several times, we wouldn't see her for over 1/2 an hour. They were out of pork ribs.”

“It’s a unique coffee shop with a view of a pond and prairie dogs. It’s a simple place and a nice quiet spot to read and study. Good coffee options. I only wish they had more hot tea options.”

“First trip here. The food was outstanding. I had 2 poblanos with tomato sauce and a side of rice. Everything was hot, fresh and tasty. The chips were fresh and the salsa had a great flavor with just a little heat. It's a great place to stop on the way to or from the airport.”

“The chicken fried steak is incredible!! They asked what I wanted to drink, and I asked for lemonade (which they didn't offer). I was fine without a drink. When I got there to pick up my order they handed me a handmade lemonade that was so absolutely delicious. Kind of like the fair. They totally went above and beyond. “We played here on a trip through Lubbock. It’s a dunes-type course with prairie grasses lining all fairways and abutting the first cut. If you hit a ball out of bounds it is as good as gone. And, the starter warned us about snakes but did not see any! The greens are in great shape. The Clubhouse is nice with good food service and very friendly Pro Shop staff. The public can make tee times after noon. The carts are new EZGO and are very nice. Play this tract!”

“One of the longest going restaurants in the Arnett. There's a reason too. The food is always great and the wait in the drive thru is never too long. The employees are always nice and I've never had a bad experience here and I grew up in the Arnett and still live there. The best Schnitzel spot in all of Lubbock. And it's a great place to get a few dogs after a TTU football game!”

“We were a group of 13. We were there for a birthday dinner for my daughter. This place was highly recommended, and now I see why. Our waitress was phenomenal. She made sure our orders were right and our beverages were filled at all times. She was the best. And the food, OMG. It was soooo goooodddddd. This is our go-to from now on. “We came here and ordered take out for dinner around 5:30 on 2/15. We were warmly welcomed, and when we informed them that we had never been there, they gave us a very thorough explanation of the entire menu. Everyone was very kind and helpful! We ordered the chicken inasal, the pork sisig, the pork liempo, and the halo halo. And when we went to leave, someone ran out and gave us a free kabob to try as well! The kabob was sweet and juicy and tender. The liempo was quite spicy with lots of raw onions and chewy bits here and there. I loved it, but would not recommend it to anyone who struggles with food textures. The chicken was out of this world smokey deliciousness. It was beautifully cooked and juicy with great flavor throughout the meat. Simply wonderful. The sisig was juicy and slightly sweet with grilled flavors as well. It was tender and very addictive. Then we finished off the meal with the halo halo. The purple ice cream and the flan on top were absolutely scrumptious. The chocolate straw and crunchy cereal on top brought an added dimension of texture. The shaved coconut ice was delicately sweet and flavorful. Then the bottom became syrupy with what seemed like fruit cocktail with white beans. I really liked the halo halo as a whole, but the beans threw me off. Overall, we really enjoyed our meal and had a good time!”

“My husband and I came from Fort Worth Texas to visit. In Lubbock we looked for a place that sold roast chickens and we found this unique Lubbock Place on Google, the place is small just a few tables to eat outside, but nice and to our surprise they did not have roast chicken, and we ordered about 2 Asada Quesadillas and an order of chicharrón, we thought they were delicious and at a reasonable price, the chicharrones were hot and crispy we liked them a lot, the only thing is that the sauces are not spicy at all but they served us very well, we would like to return to try the tacos and we don't want to return to fort worth Texas without trying their roast chicken to know if its flavor and quality is the same as the roast chicken from Dallas and Fort worth tx”

“First time here. I saw steak and eggs on their menu and had to try it. I was not disappointed. This burrito was huge and not many fatty bites from the steak. The red salsa had a good flavor. You can definitely share this burrito with your partner. I will be back again if I'm ever in Lubbock again. $9.56 for the burrito. The drive thru was pretty high so I parked and decided to order thru the window. They do have tables, but I decided to eat in the car since I was leaving Lubbock. Ended up staying to I couldn't eat anymore. I should have just ate in the patio area.”

“I was running super late to work and needed to pick up breakfast. I found this place on yelp and decided to give it a shot! I live in plainview and work in Lubbock, so I called to make sure they weren't closed because of COVID. A man answered, I'm not sure of his name, but he was super polite and answered all my questions! They do have a drive through, but you're allowed inside also. (3 customers at a time) When I arrived, there were two women and one man inside, they were all employees. They were all super sweet and awesome! I got a kolachi, it was a good size and was soooo good! I will def be coming back here :)”

“Hidden Gem Alert!!! The bar is nestled inside the Alamo Drafthouse, however you do not need a ticket to enjoy the Glass Half Full Taproom.If you have been to an Alamo Drafthouse in other cities, you know that the decor in this bar is lackluster. However, they do have some cool vintage repro art work on the walls, offer a chill atmosphere and have plenty of seating. They offer food, a full bar and of course lots of draft beer options. I think they have about 35 beers on tap. For my most recent visit, I was there with a group of ladies from a social group (yes we even had a table reserved for us). Our server was Brandon and he did a fantastic job. The Manager (Michael) also stopped by a few times to ensure that our group had everything we needed. Y'all they even have a FANTASTIC HAPPY HOUR with food and drink specials!”

“It is now called Dos Gringos. We are from Phoenix and lived in far South Texas for a while so we love dancing the Tejano music. The only complaint I have is that they allow smoking inside and I am very sensitive to smoke. Perhaps they could divide it and make the wall closest to the outside door or entrance the non-smoking side. I also love that it's mostly older people and very respectful of others. Also, it is important to know that they do not serve food, and they are cash only.”

“I got it delivered to my apartment after class today. The food is delicious! The fried dumplings are amazing, and so are the rice and noodle bowls. Would recommend to someone looking for good Chinese food.”

“After all the negative reviews I was skeptical to come in.Got a Dos Equis on draft.Guy bartender was cleaning when I came in.He was extremely nice and quick and efficient and was excellent and the small talk in between.I hope this gives hope to everyone else coming through and a end to the 1 stars.”
