“My wife and I are here for our second visit, first was for a breakfast. Service is always fast and attentive, and the place is very clean. Breakfasts were excellent, and two different panini sandwiches for lunch were also very good. My only beef/suggestion is that if you visit on a cold day, sit far, far from the door, as wind just drops the front half temperature by about 5 degrees everyone someone enters.“

“Love this place. Never disappoints. Have been a few times now while visiting my daughter from Virginia. Love the rustic decor. Awesome wall art. Service is always great. I tend to get cosmos but I'm not too crazy about theirs. How good the food is far outweighs this minor drawback. LOVE the pulled pork tachos. Get them every time. Most of the time I just get multiple appetizers. Gyozo perfectly seared and flavorful. Fried shrimp tempura has a nice light batter so you can appreciate the shrimp. Pork belly bao is yummy. Meat so tender. Not too fatty. Slaw adds a nice crunch. Will return here every time I visit. Prices good too Walking through kitchen to get to the bathroom is kinda weird though!“

“Hidden little gem. Had the Carne asada tacos and flauta plate. Everything was super flavorful and they open late. The salsa bar was amazing. Everything was fresh, I was pleasantly suprised at the fresh ingredients! My only small complaint is I would have like my food to be alot more hot. It was slightly over room temperature. The cashier let us sample a couple of aguas until we found one we liked.“

“I love coming here because the food is really good. One thing that ruins the dining experience is they have 2 different stereos playing. In the dining area they play Latin music, but in the kitchen they blast whatever music the staff wants to listen to. It makes it feel chaotic and not pleasant hearing two different songs the whole time we’re eating. Also service seems a bit slow. I have to ask for them to bring our desserts out even though it’s clear we’ve finished the entrees. Food is excellent but the dining experience could definitely improve.“

The only drawback was that they were cleaning the floors in the dining room (including around our table) while customers were eating. It would be preferable for them to do this after hours.“

I had the beef souvlaki which was very very good, and then I took a bite of my wife's chicken kabob and was completely blown away by the perfectly cooked and wonderfully spiced chicken! I have not had chicken that was as tasty as this, ever. It was not till we were leaving that I learned from the owner that she and her husband had operated this restaurant for 30 years in the same location. That is just amazing and I cannot recommend this restaurant more highly!“

The pepperoni pizza was also good, but was a tad bit small!Parking can be a bit hard to find since it is located in historic downtown Denton.Service was good, but a bit slow.They do not have any high chairs or booster seats! One family next to us was struggling with their toddler. Not very kid friendly, I’d say!“

“This place was busy. I was in the area for a week event and we all got a recommendation to go here. Tried the popular beef dish. A kind of curry. The flavor was delicious however the beef was tough and chewy. The atmosphere was casual and the 80's music was just a little too loud at time's. Worth a try!“

“Small , hole-in-the-wall establishment near the University of North Texas campus was a great find for lunch. It doesn't look like much from the road but a Thai restaurant amongst dozens of bars, pizza and burger joints, barbecue and Mexican restaurants does seem like the odd duck. The atmosphere of the place was peaceful, and we could easily have a quiet conversation. The servers were attentive, and the wait wasn't long for the food and the food was delicious - the perfect amount of spicy. I'd gladly return to try other dishes.“

“I was in Denton to meet with the Appraisal review board and the city about a newly purchased property and was wanting something light. I knew the square offered a good variety of eateries and I stumbled on this nice little bistro. The pictures are the place exactly --- very nicely laid out with a nostalgic flair. I was greeted and seated by Cody and ordered a soup and salad...the salad was great. One of the soups of the day was Asian Cabbage...not really to my liking, but the service and ambiance made up for it. Not too crowded, but definately all ages welcome. Literally from newborns to retirees were seated inside. Will visit again soon and try something different.“

“Housed in a trailer, big things come in small packages at The Pickled Carrot. The Vietnamese food truck hasn't been on my wishlist long and I'm glad I didn't hesitate. A classic Vietnamese fare, I settled on the seasoned pork Banh-Mi, I could smell the savory pork when I walked up. The sandwich exceeded my expectations and didn't stick around long, I'm already looking forward to my next banh-mi ?“

“I have been trying to get a reservation at this location for 4 years. Please note, that unless you receive a text a couple weeks before your reservation date, it does not mean you have a reservation. My friend had called in October for a date in February and noted it down on the calendar. However, when we showed up for what we thought was our reservation, we were told we did not have one. Unfortunately, this place does not quickly pick of the phone (if they even pick up), so even as we called the day off, we could not get a hold of them. However, though we did not have a reservation, they were kind enough to squeeze us in on the corner of the bar. I would recommend sitting in the main area so you can watch the chef in action but given we supposedly did not have a reservation that was saved, we were just happy to eat. Investing in a reservation system would be highly recommended to not cause such confusion as we would not have driver an hour for dinner if we did not have something reserved. Food - everything we tried from the sushi, sashimi, lamb was amazing. The fish is delicate, fresh, and simply delicious. Many items had unique flavors that I would not initially think to pair together, but were great! The made to order and intimate experience is well worth it. Note, the place is fairly pricey, but you are not only paying for quality food, but also service and experience. It is also BYOB, which we were unaware of, so feel free to bring your own bottle or two of wine!“

My wife and daughter had the teriyaki chicken, which they loved, and my son at the Ten Don. Impeccable service, seriously awesome chef / menu.I moved to Denton county from McKinney and felt like things were missing since moving - mainly favorite restaurants. Thankfully Hanabi Ramen is here and it's better than my former favorite ramen place and my family will be regulars.“

Looking for a new restaurant to celebrate our anniversary, my wife made a reservation at this gem in Denton and we were not disappointed. Our table was laid out with rose petals to celebrate the occasion and the staff wished us a Happy Anniversary. The menu had a multitude of items that sounded mouth-watering, so the decision making process was tortuous. We settled on bacon wrapped dates and steamed mussels as appetizers. The dates were moist and the bacon crispy, a perfect bite of sweet and salty. The mussels were perfectly steamed with a delicious broth and the perfect crispy, warm French bread to sop it up. A great start. My wife ordered Beef Cheek stuffed Ravioli, remembering how much she loved the beef cheeks we first ate in Spain. Ground meat in the ravioli topped with a perfect ragu of tomatoes, beef cheek, and vegetables. I am drawn to duck whenever I see it on the menu and the Rosemary smoked Duck Breast was cooked to perfection; crispy skin, juicy meat, and a sun dried cherry pico tart enough to complement its maple syrup glaze. The sliced duck breast was served atop a wild rice and vegetable pancake that was unique and perhaps the star of the dish. Come on, who wouldn’t love pancakes for dinner? A couple glasses of wine with dinner, a slice of award winning carrot cake for desert with an espresso, and exquisite service all evening long made for an ideal anniversary celebration. The breakfast nachos were great, too (from the bite I stole). We came for the ice box coffee. Tasted like one of those Starbucks caramel latte that comes in a glass bottle. Came in a cool shaker. I think it's just cold brew, cream, and the flavor of your choosing. The coffee ice cubes were an excellent touch.“
