Called ahead as we had a vet appointment and never been to Pearsall and oh my, what great customer service, super friendly and nice! Food was pretty good, brisket melted in your mouth and well rendered and rested, ribs fell off the bone. Food wasn’t chewy and not rushed. Would highly reccomend!
Definitivamente loved it! Brisket hit the spot! I got the wrap Brisket with Mac and cheese, Tea was just right and the staff was super friendly!

Right off the I-35, DONT miss it! Great BBQ!Edit - I had to go back again today to get more! They are for sure going to know who I am by this when I come in again in the future. This place is killing it folks! Went in today, and they had a catfish plate for their special today. Of coarse me being an Okie, fried catfish come on man hand it here! Even a diffrent dessert today (apple cobler). The fish was crispy on the outside very well seasoned and fresh. The hushpuppies were cooked perfectly and seasoned I think with the same seasoning on the cat fish. The cobbler is home made you can tell tastes as good as grandmas to! Come give them a try you wont be disapointed.
For years everything at Cowpokes was absolutely stellar. And we LOVED the food. Our recent visit was just okay. I've had better brisket at plate sales. It was pretty disappointing. The only thing the same is the building. Portions are smaller and prices are higher. (You can look at old & new pictures here and see for yourself) And while I wouldn't say I had a bad experience, I won't be back.

We eat BBQ all over the world. The BBQ is good, not great. They were sold out of everything but brisket and turkey. We usually get pulled pork or brisket, so brisket it was. Brisket was pretty good (a little on the dry side), but the bbq sauce was close to perfect. The sauce was not too sweet or to vinegary. We always get the Coleslaw. It was a large cut Coleslaw and a little dry but not to sweet or vinegary; it was not my favorite, but not bad. This restaurant food is worth the stop, just don't expect outstanding.
