“tl;dr: Tasty BBQ al fresco in a friendly country setting.I had a real estate photo shoot over by Navarro Mills Lake, and as I always like to support local restaurants, I researched and decided to stop by Big Bo Sherm's BBQ after the job. It's over towards the dam on 667, I blew right past it the first time around. Went to the dam to have a look, they have a nice beach over there, lots of people swimming.Came back and parked in the one spot there. It's a little food trailer next to the house. He's got 4 picnic tables set up under the commodious awning in front of it. I had the chopped beef sandwich with onion and pickle, sauce on the side. It was right tasty with or without the sauce, that's how you know it's quality.Me and him talked about family and old times in the country. And business. He said he used to have Door Dash, but the drivers wouldn't come out to pick up, so he dropped that. You can call in and order and come pick it up yourself, and a feller did just that while I was there. He parked for a short spell in the driveway.I finished up my sandwich, got a refill of sweet tea, and was on my way.“

“Food is 10/10!! Only reason I put 4 stars on service is they are ALWAYS out of chicken. Not to any fault of their own per se, but it’s difficult when it’s on the menu and doesn’t say “limited availability,” if the availability is truly limited. Additionally, staffing is a concern as well as they struggle to stay open many days out of the month. Again, no fault of their own when people are sick, but still a concern when eating here is you basically have to check their Facebook page to see if they’re open. However, when they’re staffed and open with all their ingredients… they truly are the best BBQ Food within a 25 mile radius MINIMUM.“

“Best in the area! Used to drive to Buckey's in Ennis for their brisket but no longer! Sandwiches look smaller but the meat is piled high with just the right amount of fat for superb flavor. Highly recommended!Kid-friendliness: Catered to my daughter with an extra lean chopped brisket sandwich. Absolutely wonderful. (And they called her sweetheart! Thrilled her!)“
