“Food was awesome today and all items ordered were readily available! Got overcharged for an extra two pounds of crawfish, but the cashier was super helpful in getting the issue resolved. Buying a Tejun’s tumbler was a comparable amount and she said it is refillable so an awesome deal, too!! Will definitely make it worth it for how much we come back here for the best crawfish in DFW :)“
“I went here looking for some authentic Tex Mex food and found just that. The service was great, the atmosphere was good for a small restaurant in a smaller town. The recommendation of the “spicy’ not spicy “ chicken was spot on, I ordered a side or tortillas to go with it and it was perfect. That top shelf margarita was hand down great! One of the best I’ve had and didn’t taste too sour or sweet. I only needed one.My son had the hamburger and fries and for a Mexican restaurant it wasn’t too bad at all.Kid-friendliness: They have a very good verity for the kids menu including a burger.“
“I eat here atleast once a week. The pasta is really good. I always hear customers rave about the STUFFED POPTATO! ''Me personally'' I LOVE THE CHEESE STEAK SANDWITCHES. It is mouth watering good.!!The staff is nice for the most part! So I HAVE NO COMPLAINTS!!“
“Trying to find a really good boiled seafood restaurant in the DFW area is like pulling teeth!!!My husband and I have tried countless places and always leave disappointed, UNTIL NOW.This is as close to home as it will get being that we are both from bayou city (Houston) with our family roots being in Louisiana.“
“This place was excellent the food was worth the amount payed the service was excellent we really enjoyed the excellent customer service. The Fullers will be going back again. I recommend the the Pelican House Restaurant .Parking: The location was great“
“As always the food is good. The staff is friendly. The service is fast. This time on my visit I paid attention to the bartender. He was good at what he was doing except... I observed him make a drink that needed to be shaken. That was fine, but to pour the drink he put the shaker cup bottom side down inside the cup with the finished drink inside and used it as a strainer. No problem except that his naked hands were on that part of the cup and I observed him handling money. This means he transferred whatever was on his unclean hands to the persons drink. More attention needs to be given to bar hygiene.“
“This was my first time eating at Shells and Tails 2 Geaux and it definitely won’t be my last. Everything was so fresh… and good and these were the best Crab Legs that I’ve ever eaten. I got the Cajun Munch Sampler… and I was able to make three meals out of it.“
“Def give this place a shot! I didn’t get to try their famous pasta but their crab and shrimp platter was fantastically full of flavor. No skimping on the crab either like some other seafood spots. It’s a lively atmosphere if you dine in with some good tunes playing- old school R&b. Take out can take a bit of time so order ahead or plan on having a drink at the bar..it’s def fun. Will be back for some karaoke. Will the owner is comical, entertaining and makes sure you are happy with your visit.Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs“
“Dans seafood and chicken, is a tasty delight- come by anytime day or night- fried fish and chicken or crabs that’s boiled- garden salad on the side with olive oil. We’ll be quick, to send you on your way. But if you have time. You can always stay.lunch or dinnerI’m a customer. So decided to what I could to be a blessing to Dan. Appreciate the service and the food. Emanuel“
“The food was prepared fresh and packed with so much flavor. My granddaughter and I enjoyed it so much, I returned 4 days later. We ordered the fish strip combo w/fries and kool-aid. My second visit I ordered the whole catfish combo meal. Delicious, delicious, delicious! Customer service was excellent! Thank you for the hospitality during our vist. We will return real soon!!!“
“It was a nice place, good quality food but there's a charge for refills so it'll be on the roster for that but besides that it's a good restaurant, it may look small from the outside, but the inside is large roomy and beautiful murals on the “
“Went there on a 1st date and it was amazing! The atmosphere takes you in, the music, the laughter, and the smacking!!!! ? That means the food is delicious ? and it is! I don’t eat meat and they have the same foods cooked without meat! The side dishes Mac & Cheese, Cabbage! We had the catfish and guess what ? they have steaks! Everyone likes filets but I love catfish steaks! Overall go and eat and drink ? and enjoy yourself! Bring a friend they have nice sized portions!“
“We were welcomed and seated immediately on a Saturday evening which is rare. Zach our server, was the BEST EVER! He was friendly, personable, professional, and had the best recommendations. The bartenders were on point with our drinks, too. We will definitely be back. Ask to be seated in Zach's section on your next visit.“
“I had the catfish basket which I guess my friends didn’t expect me to finish as the portion size was plentiful, but it was quite tasty and gone before I knew it.I’m excited to try other dishes as I heard their Soul Food Sunday menu is excellent. Hope they’ll bring it back soon. ???“
“Food is freshly cooked daily! Thoroughly enjoy eating at Taste of Ways once or twice a week!!!Vegetarian options: Red Beans, cabbage, greens, green beans, yams, salad,Parking: Plenty of parkingKid-friendliness: Kids meals one entree, side and rollWheelchair accessibility: Parking lot, entrance and wheel chair accessible is perfect.“
“Most people take out, I see very few people in the dining area at this location. I give them 4 stars on food because not every dish shines. If I could rank their main courses, I would put their fried catfish first, followed by the tenders, then the chicken and last the livers and gizzards. This last one is tough to get right. That being said, the chicken is good with crispy crust; the white meat is not dry. The fries are frozen and crinkle-cut but fried well. The mashed potatoes are from powder, kinda reminds me of what you would get in a school lunch, but again, not bad. The green beans are good but nothing fancy. They also have corn nuggets and fried okra. It used to be dirt cheap, but prices have gone up like everything else. That being said, for the price, it doesn't ask anything of places like KFC or Golden Chick. If you order a family meal, you will also get a 2-liter coke, rolls, and jalapeños. I used to eat at one of these in Fort Worth all the time; it never disappointed. Do a search; you may be surprised to find one near you. They definitely have more locations in Fort Worth. For the money, their catfish can't be beat. You can get full on 2 filets and a side. I would call the fish their signature dish. Try it, you won't be disappointed.“
“Had some fantastic food here. Ordered the two piece jerk chicken with rice and plantains. The rice was super flavorful and the plantains were sweet and delicious. The Jerk was awesome. A little saucier than I'm used to, but that's a good thing. Their jerk sauce is 10/10 and I couldn't get enough.Coworker also said the cabbage was the best he's ever had.“
“Nice and friendly service. I got the whole catfish and I LOVED it as well as my son had the double bacon cheese burger that he said was really good. It was cooked to order and seasonings were perfect. I will definitely be back to try other menu items.“
“We dined in for Sunday lunch and Bry took care of us and provided excellent service. She is very attentive and a breath of fresh air. Love her positive energy.Parking: Easy to park. It will get packed on certain evenings, so it may be a bit difficult to park; however, it is open and free so it works!!“
“Stepped into a time warp here vis-a-vis the interior decor - forty years old? The prices of old staples have doubled understandably; hence no complaints. The food was plated correctly. Each item was freshly cooked. I felt that the fried fish was too mushy inside. I sincerely hope that the bean counters have not taken over the company. The service was extremely courteous. The place was clean, tidy and warm (it was well below freezing ) outside.“
“OMG I love this place already... from day 1 a few weeks ago I have been at this place on a regular because the food is so delicious from the crab legs to the Bacon cheeseburgers and Wings my God so good and homemade fresh food I can't resist. I'm so ready to try the whole menu. Hot, fresh, good and affordable.. you Can't beat that!“
“First and foremost, the freshness of the seafood was evident in every dish. Each bite was a testament to the restaurant's commitment to quality ingredients. The menu showcased a diverse selection, catering to various seafood preferences, and the chef's expertise in handling these delicate flavors was truly commendable. The ambiance of the restaurant complemented the dining experience. The nautical-themed decor created a relaxed and inviting atmosphere, enhancing the overall enjoyment of the meal. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable and accommodating.“
“They have been pretty consistent across the board the past few times we've ordered!! Their tartar sauce is the BEST better get extra!!! The catfish, and chicken is great and their fried shrimp and shrimp fried rice plate is soooooo good!!!! They also sell Calypso drinks! So far the best corn fritters too.“
“I absolutely love this place and try to eat here when I'm in Waxahachie! The vibe here is amazing and they work towards a good cause so I can't complain!Kid-friendliness: Nice outdoor seating, room for them to move around, brightly colors interior, menu choices kids will also love.Wheelchair accessibility: Nice outdoor seating and wide doors, walk up ramp, and removable chairs for dinning.“
“I ordered the shrimp fried rice, corn nuggets and fried okra. This place was fast, delicious and reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend and I will be back to try the fried shrimp and fish! Did not go inside so cannot comment on atmosphere, but I am putting 5 stars so as not to decrease the overall average.“
“I must say, their customer service is great! If you're looking for a recommendation, you can't go wrong with the lemon pepper hot wings. They're bursting with flavor and the perfect amount of heat. However, I found the fruit punch to be a bit too sweet for my taste. But, if you're someone who loves super-sweet drinks, then I would definitely recommend giving it a try!“
“I visited the Midlothian location. . The food was great.. but what impressed me is I thought I left my wallet and I called and spoke to Pedro, the store manager. He went above and beyond to try and locate it for me.. him and another girl. I didn’t get her name, but they were both very helpful. I ended up finding it in my car… but I appreciate the effort they made trying to find it for me! Thank you so much for your great customer service ❤️“
“Every time I go here my experience is always good! I get seated quickly, the waiters/waitresses are nice, and the food always come out at a reasonable time. I usually go during their lunch hours because they have great prices. I've been able to try a lot, and everything is delicious in my opinion.“
“Got sat down at our table immediately, service was fast and the staff friendly and helpful. Food was hot and amazing. I got shrimp bag with boiled egg, sausage, corn, and potatoes. All seasonings and my kids and hubby got Buffalo wings, they were super crispy and sauced up nicely.Parking: Lots if parking.“
“I ordered the 2 piece special catfish basket, I was amazed the 2 piece special catfish basket no longer exists , it is $8.00 now without any warnings. The fish basket was good and hot. It will be a while before I visit Blue Louisiana catfish.“
“Ok so I'm obsessed!! Since they starting selling crawfish, I'm there like almost twice a week. They have this crawfish special where you 5lbs of crawfish, 2 smoked sausage links , 2 corns and few potatoes halves all for $35. I've gone places where I've paid more than $35 for just 2lbs without all the extras. The business owner is from New Orleans so you have to know that for the whole shop decorated with a Mardi Gras theme with a little of the NFL team saints sprinkled in there . Very festive. a . I've only got to cross paths with the owner a couple of times , yet each time she's always welcoming and friendly. With a great spirit about her. It's a small spot , but they have a couple of tables /booths for anyone who's waiting to pick up an order or choose to dine in. It's a Daiquiri shop, so far it's the best one I've been too from hospitality, drinks , food and prices . They also have a couple of other yummy goodies like kool-Aid pickles, and pickled pig lips which pairs amazingly with some original lays chips or ruffles. Now back to this crawfish that I'm addicted to. It's Nola style , which means it's not buried in a heavy gravy like sauce . They're seasoned to perfection. They can also be served in a garlic butter sauce that is to die for , seriously. If there were anything I could say that i noticed , depending on the day or time of day that you come , the food is cooked a little differently. Nothing major , but I can definitely tell it's not the same person cooking them the many different times I've gone. I also don't care too much for only getting 2-3 small portion cups of butter for 5 lbs of crawfish. Not a deal breaker , I'm still going to go there regularly. Probably just going to have to start paying extra for the butter sauces in which I don't mind at all. Also got some crawfish and shrimp for friend who is from Louisiana. She always tells me that I have never had any good crawfish until I've been to Louisiana. I keep bringing her crawfish from different spots trying to get her perspective and she's never pleased / impressed. Only this last time I brought her some shrimp and crawfish from here and she said that they were amazing and she even ate some cold she said that's how good they were .“
“Love this place!! I’ve ordered 4 times in the past week!! Sometimes they forget to add the butter sauce (doordash orders) but the amazing flavor makes up for it! They are also very fasttt although I live 25 minutes away, by far my favorite restaurant!“
“First time I went was awful. I gave it a second attempt and it was great. First time the waitress couldn’t speak English which made it hard for her and myself to understand each other also my glass had hard Queso on it so I left. Went back a month later for the second time and set in the bar area. The Bartender lady was great and food was amazing. We spent $51 for to plates, and sweet tea. We had fish with shrimp soup, and whole fried catfish. We went on a Sunday around 2pm made it right before the crowd.“
“My fish was fresh, the only disappointment I experienced was that I asked for 1 malt vinegar, 1 tartar sauce, and 2 ketchups. I received tons of malt vinegar and some packets had leaked, and a cocktail sauce that I didn't ask for. The employees need to be more attentive when getting condiments. I'm particular about my food, and didn't eat it due to no tartar sauce. I wasn't going to drive back for it, then my fish would've been cold.“
“We went to Saltgrass to celebrate my recent wedding. The food here was amazing. The food came out surprisingly fast (almost too fast.) We were still trying to finish our salads and appetizers when our main entrees were brought out. The ribeye that my brother and I had was outstanding. My sister in law had the brisket burger and it was amazing! Highly recommend if you are not wanting steak or seafood. The only downside to our dinner was that our waitress did not keep up on refilling waters. Not only that but we were finished with our meal and waited a long time before receiving the check. She did not come to our table even though she was in the section. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant for its food and its atmosphere.“
“12/10/23....We were there for brunch for my sisters birthday. Service was standard but food was excellent! I had grilled salmon with collards and Mac and I also got the peach cobbler waffles with chicken to take home. No complaints at all on the food!! This was my 1st time but it won't be my last!!???“
“All I have to say is...you know when fish is good when you wake up and try to put the leftovers up, and end up finishing the last 2 pieces off! There was no after grease when it got cold...yummyGoing back to try the fried lobster tails ?Dietary restrictions: As far as dietary restrictions...I know what you're asking...just don't go super hungry...you might overspend if you're on a budget!!!Parking: Parking is close to the entrance. They service was pretty quick so we weren't there long.Kid-friendliness: I saw a few kids there with their parents! The wait didn't seem to be a bother to them!“
“Monchel was an amazing server! We came in with a very large party to celebrate my cousin’s birthday and she was patient and attentive to all our needs! I look forward to coming here again and working with her. Great food, vibes & customer service!!!“
“We were a large group of ten and the restaurant did a good job of accommodating us. The food was delicious and authentic Cajun. The waitress was very attentive. There is lots of fun decor in the restaurant. The jazz music was a little loud after a while but also kept the atmosphere energetic and still allowed for conversation of those close by.“
“Went here twice with my family and I love this little restaurant! One time we only went for drinks and sat at the bar. I had a sangria Margarita, it was great. The second time we went for dinner. It was delicious and service is awesome as well. Everybody is friendly, they have a very big TV behind the bar with sports games on. We also went through the drive through once for breakfast tacos and they are the BEST in the area!! 10/10 recommend coming here!“
