I understand the hours working here may seem grueling and tiring, and I think the customers should not feel obligated to be flat out rude to the employees if the employees have done nothing wrong. I get that some people are in a rush, but that isn't the employees fault. If the customer is in a rush, it is THEIR OWN RESPONSIBILITY to manage THEIR OWN TIME correctly, NOT THE EMPLOYEE. I'm not a fan of Kroger. They were once a decent, run of the mill grocery store on par with others, but things have changed for the worse in my opinion. 1) Self-checkout is king - If you go frequently, buy a few small items, then this probably will work fine for you. They have about 16 self-checkout stations where you get to scan and bag your groceries. I was in the area and wanted to pick up a few items. I don't usually shop here and haven't been to this location in many years, but I was impressed that the free N95 masks (limit 3 per person) provided by our tax dollars were available at both the entrance and the exit to the store. I like how they have enclosed the dairy/cheese/yogurt displays at the back of the store. I think that will help the merchandise stay a good cool temperature.
