Rudy's Country Store and Bar-B-Q in Richmond is aligned with other stores I've visited. They are very consistent is delivering good quality food. The Spicy Chop sandwich is good and relatively lean but certainly doesn't live up to the expected spice level. Also, the sandwich should have had more meat, it covers the bun if you spread it out. The Half Chicken is a better value. The dish is reasonably prices and the chicken is moist and flavorful.The staff behind the counter is intensely focused on taking your order and slightly robotic, however, I'm here to eat not chat. The rustic environment is expected and somewhat appropriate. I'll never be a fan of the hard wood benches. It makes you want finish your meal and get out.

Why have an option on online order for condiments such as BBQ sauce if you aren't going to tell people that it is not with their order? It is a waste buying $60 worth of meat and then finding out they didn't even give you the BBQ sauce or let you know it wasn't with your order even though you ordered it. Seems like a great way to really annoy your customers!

Went to pick up a Togo order and the girl at the counter was very rude asked for bbq sauce and she was rude when replied with if you want more it’s over there in the bin very rude as she was walking away. Customer service is very important. I didn’t catch her name. I eat here often and have never gotten this kinda service. If you don’t like your job you should find a new one.

I like Rudy's brisket sandwich, I did get some in my sandwich. I had chopped beef, so you'll find some in chopped beef sandwiches. We go there every 2 months.
The worst barbecue we have ever eaten! The atmosphere and the place are good. The person who served us and charged us was friendly but the brisquet, sausage and ribs were SUPER cold. It seems that instead of having the food in a warm place they have it in a cooler, the brisquet, apart from being cold, was dry and hard...nothing juicy. I was hungry and came out with a sore jaw from trying to chew the brisquet EVER!! we will return.

I am traveling for work from Atlanta. I really want some good Texas barbecue For me, barbecue is my go to food, especially brisket. I have a smoker I cook brisket, pulled pork , chicken, ribs on a weekly basis. I am far from being a professional I just love barbecue. Turned out my hotel was right Next to a Rudy's barbecue. I think I found my place. I go in order 1 pound of brisket moist because I like it With fat. I grabbed an original bottle of barbecue sauce and some potato salad. Potato salad was good but it's a good thing I bought the bottle of sauce. It was very tough and hard to eat. The taste was so so.Everybody knows if you have a good brisket you don't need barbecue sauce. I ended up using almost half the bottle I bought, and I ended up throwing away probably half the brisket. I believe part of the problem is they cut it the wrong way.It was By far one of the worst decisions I have made on picking a place to eat. I don't normally leave a review. In fact, I think this is one of my first. Going forward I will probably find a new place when I come back to Texas
