“I have traveled to San Angelo several times now for work and had the opportunity to try The Grill this evening with my youngest son. We are from the Dallas area and have had some amazing meals but our meal tonight was by far the best we have ever had. We both had the filet offered on Fridays. We both had some spaghetti squash that was so amazing I was asking how to make it at home. Every single thing we ordered was cooked better than perfection. We were blown away by everything down to the amazing desserts made from scratch there. I was already looking at my schedule to see when the next time I could come back and enjoy it all again. I would highly recommend this restaurant if passing through or visiting San Angelo. I know I will be dreaming of the food tonight. Our waiter Brad was kind enough to answer my many questions about the owner as well as information about other restaurants he owns in Dallas I haven’t tried yet. You will not be disappointed in the food at The Grill in San Angelo. I’m off to my food coma now.”

“My husband and I finally got to eat at BARNWOOD GRILL! Mmmm. We both ordered the Sunday special of Turkey and Dressing. The mashed potatoes and green beans and gravy and roll were sooo good. The turkey melted in my mouth. And the cranberry sauce was the perfect size. Of course, the way you know if the food is good is when you taste the tea. It was perfect. And, for us, the portions were large enough we have dinner and supper! Highly recommend. The service is spectacular.”

We had the beef (3) enchiladas meals, with tortilla sides as well as tea, and sprite to drink. We left feeling quite porkulous with smiles on our faces for sure. Beats Henry’s, Alejandro’s , and Nachos . The Cielo dip was the best queso we have ever had . My husband ordered Steak à la Mexicana and I ordered the quesabirria. Excellent service , superb food, great drinks , and very reasonably priced . I had the blood orange margarita and it was so good I had to order another one 😅 Thank you Natalia for the excellent service , and to the chefs for food. Environment was clean and friendly. In a world where so many people are carrying silent struggles, Simon continues to be someone who gives back in a real and meaningful way. He does not just serve food, he serves people. He supports the community, helps nonprofit organizations, works with Concho Valley Workforce, donates food and time, gives second-chance opportunities to people who need a fresh start, and shows kindness to single parents and others who may be walking through hard seasons in life. That kind of generosity matters, and it deserves to be recognized. One of the most beautiful things he does is have a wall in his restaurant where, if someone is able to pay it forward, another person in need can take a receipt or ticket and be fed. That is such a powerful example of loving your neighbor. It is compassion in action. It is a reminder that even small acts of kindness can make a huge difference in someone’s life. I also want to personally thank Simon for the tickets I won. To some people it may seem like a small thing, but to me it means so much more. Sometimes life puts people in difficult places, and sometimes the greatest blessings are not just the gift itself, but the opportunity it creates. What Simon did created a bridge. A bridge for possibility, a bridge for peace, and a bridge for a positive opportunity moving forward. In life, we cannot force healing, peace, or togetherness, but we can create opportunities for those things to grow. That is what this blessing represents to me. As we reflect on Easter weekend, I think about grace, mercy, sacrifice, and forgiveness. John 3:16 reminds us of the greatest gift ever given, and this season reminds us that love, humility, and kindness still matter. Sometimes we have to put pride aside, trust God, and recognize that blessings can come through the generosity of people He places in our path. This was one of those moments for me. So today I just want to say thank you, Simon. Thank you for your generous heart. Thank you for the way you love this community. Thank you for all the ways you help people, many of which probably go unseen by most. Thank you to your family and everyone at Nacho’s Restaurant for being such a blessing to San Angelo. Cindy looked after my fiance and I with prompt, kind, and courteous service. She is truely awesome. The food was lip smack'n good with portions we haven't seen in a very long time. We had the beef (3) enchiladas meals, with tortilla sides as well as tea, and sprite to drink. We left feeling quite porkulous with smiles on our faces for sure. Our visit made for a very bright point for us for such a crappy day. As far as ratings go, Hidalgo's West is a 6 out of 5. We'll be back for sure, bet on it. And Cindy? Your aces dear!”
