Great food. Just wish that y’all wouldn’t block the beautiful cactus with y’all’s political views. Leave that stuff out of it!!!! Take it down and you will be 5 stars

Awesome hangout and great food . We usually take the motorcycle because parking is limited or park across the street but worth it . Great service and quick turnaround most times and love the outdoor atmosphere.

The food was so delicious. I ordered the ribeye sandwich with a side salad and oh myyyy!! It was awesome. The service was great as well. Highly recommended. I will go back again when I'm in the Southtown district.

Had a Roasted Lamb Sandwich with fries and a beer and it was perfect. Order it everytime you see it on the menu, because when it's gone..it's gone... They have outside in inside dinning. The atmosphere is great and the staff is very welcoming and friendly. This place is famous for their fish tacos, but your tummy won't be disappointed if you choose anything from the menu.

Ok so here's the deal... it's a street corner near downtown San Anton, away from the river walk, it has gravel and rusty old beer bottle caps instead of mulch, it has a bar, food, shade trees, picnic tables and a great vibe. People laughing and hanging out. Loads of cyclers finish their workout with a cold one or full dinner. The meals look and taste like artwork. Very worth it. Ya gotta know about this.

Best fried mushrooms in town. Servers are very polite. Beer here is always cold the way it's supposed to be.

After years away, due to the pandemic, I finally got to return to La Tuna Grill. I ordered the seared salmon with mixed greens salad and a mustard and onion vinaigrette. Although my salmon was just a tad bit salty and not exactly like I remembered that dish, it was still good. I really enjoy the cool, laid back vibe of La Tuna. The staff are friendly and accommodating. You can eat inside the restaurant or dine outside at their patio. La Tuna is far enough from downtown to let you escape the tourists and sit, dine and decompress. If you can't tell, I am a fan of this place and their food.

This review is for other bands that might be thinking about playing at this venue. Directions: La Tuna is in downtown San Antonio. Finding it is not difficult. Directions on the web appear to be accurate. It's at 100 Probandt Street, where Probandt and E. Cevallos meet. Load-In: Load-in is quite easy, but parking to get unloaded is a bit of a trick. La Tuna is on the corner where Probandt and E. Cevallos meet. On the Cevallos side of the lot, there is a U-shaped driveway that you can use to pull up quite close to the "stage." This worked for us us, even with a truck and trailer rig. However, the driveway and its surroundings are quite tight, so it required a band member to be in front of the truck, guiding us as we entered and exited to make sure that we didn't clip any of the large landscaping boulders near the drive. Also, while the truck and trailer are in the driveway they are blocking two parking spaces. I believe these were being used by the venue staff since no one asked us to move our rig at any point during the entire night. Once we had finished unloading, we just backed up the rig to put the trailer door flush against the fence for security. We were allowed to leave the rig there all night. Considering that the only parking at La Tuna is curbside on the street, this really simplified matters. It's just a short carry from the drive to the stage, but the space is covered with gravel, so wheeled equipment won't roll well. Stage: The "stage" is just an area on the ground, directly underneath what appear to be a few apartments built on stilts. This provides pretty good cover from the elements. However, the area is floored with paving bricks and they are not laid level. If you look carefully, you'll see an area in the center that's flat enough to set up a drum kit. The rest of the floor is somewhat wavy. I would suggest making sure you have some shims to use for your speaker cabinets so that they can be adjusted to sit level. There is plenty of room, though, so you shouldn't have any issues getting everyone on stage. There are several thick posts (the "stilts" referred to above) spaced along the front of the stage area, so every band member may not be visible from every point in the audience. There is plenty of power and, at least for the night we were there, it was of good quality, never dropping below 120V. Lighting: The venue has no stage lights. You will want to bring your own. There are some bulbs on wires strung above the tables in the audience, but these do nothing for the stage. They are useful when packing up, however, as they will provide sufficient illumination to see what you're doing once your own lights are turned off. Sound System: The club has no sound system, so you'll need to bring your own. Layout: La Tuna comprises two small buildings. One is a bar, the other is a restaurant. The area where the band plays is outside between the two buildings. You will be facing Probandt street. You should also be aware that there are train tracks about 100 feet from the venue lot and, at some point during the night, a train will come chugging through, horns blaring. Volume: Be aware that there is an apartment building across the street, so there is some sensitivity to volume. We were asked to reduce our volume but had no problem finding an acceptable level. Comfort: This is an outdoor stage so you have all the usual associated issues. There are no fans or heaters so you will need to supply your own. You might also want to think about mosquito repellent although we had no problems in this area the night we were there. Parking: As mentioned above, customer parking is curbside on the street. The band can leave its truck and trailer parked in the U-shaped driveway. There are also a very few parking slots that can be used by band members if you get there early enough to get one. Venue Management: Pleasant and easy to work with. They're good people and we look forward to our next gig here. Overall: We had a very good gig. The crowd was enthu

I wish I can give this place 10 stars! Everything was absolutely superb! And the staff was so friendly and delightful! I'm so sad to be leaving San Antonio, but this place gives me motivation to visit SA often!

Brought out of town guests for lunch and had awesome food and service. Enjoyed corn Chipotle chowder, brisket burger, fish tacos and tuna melt. The general manager waited on us and she was delightful despite being the only one working ( a rare commodity these days). Definitely check it out if you are in town.

This was a recommendation from a person in our group, and I'm so glad we came. Big portions, big smiles and an overall amazing spot! Let me start by saying their outdoor patio/seating area is massive just like their portions! I can definitely see this being a cool spot to spend warm Texas nights at. Since it was our first time, we asked for recommendations, and the first thing they said was getting a full order of the fried mushrooms. Great choice, highly recommend if you love all things friend and mushrooms, they did not disappoint. They had a special brisket burger, topped with onion rings bbq sauce and the fixings. I wasn't a huge fan as I didn't think the burger had that much flavor and I think with the onion rings I had hit my fried food limit. I did try my friends blacked chicken sandwich po boy, not gonna lie, that was the best tasting chicken I've had anywhere! I couldn't stop eating it, it was that good. Someone got the fish tacos and that was hella good too. Bummer I ordered the wrong thing, but everything else we had was off the hook. If you love supporting locally owned businesses, I'd recommend checking this place out. Everyone we interacted with was gracious and friendly!

Super service and delicious food. The fish tacos are fresh and delicious, the brisket burger was great as well. The staff caters to requests and substitutions. Inside and outside dining available. Across the street is the Blue Star Arts Complex with nice boutique shopping, restaurants, and it is adjacent to the paved river trail for a pleasant walk.

I remember picking my dad up from this bar when I was younger and now I am come here to get drinks. Ha! A few things you should know before coming here-- parking is hard to come by especially when they are busy so be prepared to make a few rounds around the block looking for parking. The bar area only accepts cash OR you can pay for a beer using credit and they'll have you take out cash basically like an atm. Not sure if I explained that correctly but all I can say is just bring cash. This place is great for happy or enjoying drinks and apps after first Friday across the street.
