I've always found the food, service and value very good but the noise in the back indoor dining area, on a busy night made conversations difficult. If conversation is part of your plan then either outside or in the front dining area are the places to be.
The total experience was typically awesome. The best margaritas in San Antonio. We sat outside and for the first time, we had to deal with a lot of flies. Even the little spinner didn't help. But the food was great and overall still the best Mexican Food Restaurant in SA.

I took a friend for her birthday lunch. She had never been to La Fonda on Main before and she loved it. From the historic building, the ambiance, the great service and of course the delicious food. Thank you La Fonda for making her birthday so special.
