My wife and I very much like the fried chicken at Gills Fried Chicken. The breading is not overly heavy and the flavor is nice. The sides are very substantial and tasty. On a recent visit my wife and I had the two piece all white with two sides, okra and cole slaw. The quantity of the sides is large and the flavor very good. When compared to Popeye's the prices at Gills are lower and the sides are larger and more flavorful. A bargain when compared to Popeye's. Gills is our "go to" for take home fried chicken.

Gil's has really really gone down.. small Tenders well mostly crust. We need another Chicken place. STEP IT UP GIL'

The drive through needs attention! I mentioned to a friend at work I was going to Gils for some chicken and he said be ready to wait an hour in the drive through. I went anyway. I waited for a few minutes at the speaker before someone asked me what I wanted to order. Drove up to the window, paid and waited a few more minutes. After a combined 15 minutes, the guy opens the window and says "can you park over there, it's going to be About 10 minutes before the chicken thighs are ready." I said "No. I've been here 15 minutes already, if I park over there I'll be here another 20. Why didn't you say that before I paid, I would've had the choice to GO somewhere else or change my order?" the guy lowered his head with a sigh and I heard one of the 7 employees that I could see yell, "park the line!" I said "what do you have that you can pack now" he offered to change my thigh order to breast and that he doesn't blame me for not waited and added "I wouldn't wait either". I agreed, took my order and left. Not a good experience and I must say GOODBYE to Gils. This occurred on 1/20/24 at about 3:45 pm, just in case any competent management is interested.
