The food is usually very good. Sides: I have to say the greens are too salty so I get cabbage. My last visit, the yams/sweet potatoes tasted like they were canned, different than when they first opened. Mac n cheese, fabulous. Entrees: My favorites are the smothered chicken wings and the baked chicken, both come with rice and gravy. My daughter loves the oxtails with Mac n cheese and cabbage. I don't go often but when I'm in the mood for soul food, Granny Dee's Kitchen is the best place in Spring, TX!

Order their daily special and you'll not be disappointed! Don't forget to add a homemade dessert. Don't feel like cooking dinner? Granny's meals are the perfect comfort food to take home to the family before heading out to school activities!

Ordered Smothered Pork Chops, Rice, black eyed peas, cabbage, and a side of macaroni and cheese- The high point was the cabbage and the cornbread- The rice was imo scorched or maybe it was the gravy- But I am quite certain it was the rice - the pork chops was thick but lacked seasoning- the blackeyed peas were not tender they definitely could have been cooked another hour and lacked flavor. The macaroni and cheese was plain, one step ahead of boxed . The cabbage was very tender and seasoned well , and although the cornbread was dense the flavor made up for up. Overall I would not order again I actually called to discuss my food yet realized they closed at 5p- it definitely wasn't a great nor good experience

My family and I checked out Granny Dee’s Kitchen, a cool black-owned spot we wanted to support. The elderly man who greeted us was so friendly, and we didn't mind waiting for him to take our orders. We ended up spending over $100 for four of us, which wasn't bad. I liked how they have different stuff on different days, so we went for Friday's menu. The meats were cooked well and tasted great, but the black-eyed peas needed more seasoning and cooking time. I loved the collard greens, but Mom found them too bitter. The mac & cheese was awesome, and the pound cake was moist and yummy, especially when heated up. But the sweet tea wasn't our thing—it tasted kind of fake. Overall, Granny Dee’s Kitchen was a nice spot for lunch. Everyone's got their own taste, so you gotta try it yourself. We'd totally go back to try more stuff.

Best oxtails I’ve ever had. I only wish they served fried okra as a side, but even though they don’t I still consider this to be one of the best restaurants I’ve ever eaten at.

Terrible customer service. I called in my order today and was told it would be ready in 30 minutes. Upon arrival I was told by the lady that took the order that my order" did not make it to the back". She looked at me as if was my fault with no apology. Had it not been for my husband I would have not gotten anything. Needless to say I will not be patronizing this establishment again. After all the food wasn't good anyway.

Went here for a late breakfast and ended up having lunch. Hamburger was excellent and the service was good too even with all the other people. Nice friendly place! Clean and tidy and the wait goes fairly quick.

The Best Ribs I have ever had! Fried Chicken Wings were amazing. Mac n Cheese on point. Deer Sausage can't go wrong. I'm serious... If you're a rib person you need to try Granny Dee's. You won't be disappointed and don't let the location change your mind. It's cool and the food is delicious!

I ordered the oxtail dinner through DoorDash. The speed of having the order delivered was great. However the food was so salty that I could not finish. The Mac n cheese tasted burnt and was dry.The yams were really good. Probably the best thing. The rice and gravy and oxtails were just way too salty!

I love the restaurant I love the ladies I think if they would back off on the sodium I would come more often. It's one of the most wholesome Soulfood restaurants in town. They just used too much salt and there's been times. I bought the tea cakes, and they were good, except they had too much nutmeg in them, and the sweet potatoes were a little extra sweet but I think if they back down of the salt sugar and the nutmeg it would be perfect. My daughter loves that. In fact, we will be there this week. I hope they get this message so that they can make those changes.. Other than that, I would give them all five stars

I’ve never had such poor quality of food…never!!! The chitterlings were seasoned with super spicy spices and jalapeños undercooked , no flavor other than hot!! One tiny bite and my lips became raw. The vegetables were all canned. The mashed potatoes were unseasoned with big chunks of potatoes uncooked. The Mac n cheese was pitiful, the green bean were mushy. One bite of each item and I was so disgusted, I threw it all out. I am so upset that I spent my hard earned money, $61.00 to eat this slop. The cornbread was dry and hard, so was the pound cake, neither should be sold that old. They need Gordon Ramsey to come in and help them. I try and support small black business owners, as I am a small black business owner, but I can’t with this establishment, the food doesn’t even look appealing. I’m southern born and raised and this food does not meet the standards of Soul Food, not one bit, ????

The food was horrible. The rice didn't taste like rice, the cabbage was blend, the meatloaf was half cooked. Nothing we ordered taste good except the sweet potatoes. I will not order from there again or recommend this restaurant.
