“Great food and excellent service during a recent eclipse visit. The burger hit the spot. Be aware they only take cash or check, so bring your 1990s money. Worth hitting an ATM for sure. Mark your calendars for the 2317 total solar eclipse return.“
“Went to Haystacks to get dessert after eating lunch. They offered something called State Fair Waffle that wasn't even on the menu! The sweet server we had suggested it, and it was so delicious and had the best flavors! Lots of cinnamon and caramel, and I think toffee ice cream on top! I'm posting a pic for everyone to see. My hubby got the key lime pie, which he said tasted better than most other ones he's tried. Cute little place to stop in if you are walking down the streets and sightseeing at Sulphur Springs like we were and want a specialty coffee, a yummy treat or even lunch!“
“We were in Sulphur Springs on business and decided to grab an early lunch before the 45 minute drive home. Sure are glad we chose Pioneer Cafe. Super clean, the best waitstaff and the food was delicious. I had probably the best Reuben Sandwich I’ve had in a very, very long time. Plentiful corned beef, cheese, sauerkraut and house made dressing and the bread was buttery and grilled perfectly. My husband had a lunch plate with CFS, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn and a roll. We shared bread pudding and brought half home *along with half my sandwich). We will definitely go back! Ask for Joanne- she’s a great server!“
“An absolutely wonderful place to grab some food and drinks! With friends or a significant other, it’s always a great time and atmosphere at Muddy’s! The service is top notch and the attention to each customer is immaculately done. Will be back soon!!!“
“Every time I come to Sulphur Springs I always stop here and get the Fancy Chicken Salad sandwich, pasta salad, and 2 iced sugar cookies. For me, this is always heavenly! The chicken salad always tastes fresh and the crisp lettuce and juicy tomato is perfect between the toasted bread. It is a small sandwich, a small container of pasta and small cookies. I paid close to $18 for this lunch combo and 2 cookies. OVERPRICED but they're in the square and it's expected I guess. The price is the only thing that stopped a 5 star review. The interior is old and boring, but it's an elderly hot spot so who cares. I like what I get and haven't been disappointed yet (other than in price). Looking forward to my next visit already“
“2-plate meal, chicken breast, pork ribs, along with pulled pork. Love that they don’t sauce it, I was able to put just enough on for my preference. But frankly it can be eaten without sauce, it’s that good!!Mac & cheese/baked beans for sides, both excellent, even the bread was good. I’ll assume the pecan pie will be later.“
“I'm not a big fan of Chilis, but my wife and daughter are. I miss the old school chilis when the menu was much smaller (back in the 80's & 90's). Don't get me wrong the food isn't bad, just not the same. We did have some great service though. Bring back the original chicken crispers and the ice cream pie.“
“Enjoyed a nice lunch outdoors on a road trip from Texas to Tennessee. Restaurant is right on the main square and we enjoyed the charming atmosphere outside. Our server was super friendly and patient while I figured out what to order. We had a salad with chicken tenders, and a cheeseburger with jalapeños and tater tots, and everything was great. Reasonably priced, too. Definitely would stop again if we ever had a chance.Vegetarian options: Salad bar and many sides-can easily make a nice vegetarian meal“
