“I’m very picky about breakfast food and I think the 5 star reviews are a little inflated here. The food tasted fine but the portions were small, the biscuits were small and I think paying $13 for a very skimpy plate of bacon and eggs and a couple cups of coffee was a little high. I left hungry and kicking myself for not stopping at McD’s where I could’ve had more food, been closer to the highway and paid about half the price. The atmosphere was fun, listening to all the locals gripe about politics and the economy, but yet here they were, spending about $20 for breakfast after the tip. It wasn’t a good investment to me.“
“This place is a little unique. On the upside, very good food at a very fair price. On the downside, there is sometimes only two employees there, so sometimes slow. The owner takes care of the tables, and there is a cook. They are not always open though, and a bit warm inside during hot weather. Nevertheless, I like this place. The owner is very friendly.“
“In my personal opinion. It was a bit disappointing. Came here for breakfast and there was none. The food was okay. Some of the best fried okra I've had and the toast was amazing. The meat of the chicken was good but the breading was too thick. Fries were sweet but other than that. It was okay.“
“I had the tuna tower. I was so pleased with it! The flavors were so good. When I ordered it I was a little skeptical. But it was the most satisfying plate of food I've had in canton texas! We arrived 10 minutes before they closed the lunch run, but they were so polite about it being so close to closing and still served us with the best service.“
“special shoutout to BRIAN,the guy with the trucker hat & glasses! i caught a flat on the way home to dallas and floated to this gem of a place. I called for roadside assistance and they were talking TWO hours. soon as i pulled up youtube to do it myself there was my ANGEL asking "if i needed help". he put his all into making sure i was back on the road, and i really appreciate it!!! from the too tight lug nuts to even after the jack in my car failed to lift my car and all else failed we gave up. and i thanked him for his help & thought about the long 2 hours ahead...but fortunately he came back with a better jack and succeded!! thanks again man!!!“
“First, Feathered Friend is not closed. It moved to the Canton Marketplace. Check their website and/or FB. Second, the Canton Marketplace is open only once a month, during Canton First Mondays. That's not Monday, it's the Thu-Sun before the first Monday of each month. So, yes, only one weekend a month can you try this place! Third, I never thought this place looked good because it was in a gas station, and maybe the logo didn't spark joy for me. Even in the Canton Marketplace, I almost didn't try it. My misjudgment! The spicy OG is the ***best*** chicken sandwich I've ever had. It's a bit messy, so maybe I should ask for 3/4 as much sauce. Or really, I'll just learn to be tidier each time I enjoy it. Sauce might drip out even as you are unwrapping it. =)The regular OG is the **2nd-best** chicken sandwich I've ever had. =) Chicken thighs FTW!!! (You can also get the sandwich with white meat instead, but I much prefer the version with dark meat. Really owe it to yourself to try the OG as an OG.)They also make their own sweet tea and lemonade. Of the sides I've tried, I think I liked the corn/elote best. Oh, right, they also have a mean salad! One of the best I've ever had. Tough choice between that and the spicy OG. But I'd say you gotta try the chicken sandwich at least once, the way it's meant to be. You can take the salad home for later. Chef Ryan is a nice guy. I think he likes trying new things and thinking outside the box.I give them six stars. But minus one for being open only one weekend a month.“
