Went to Al's bbq today to pick up a pound of brisket to take home. The parking lot was full which means the food must be good also fish Friday. The brisket was perfectly smoked and very tender. I didn't get fish but by the way it was selling it had to be good.
We did not get the opportunity dine at Al's. But we did get to enjoy Czech style lagers at Tanglefoot Brewery, the dark larger was one of the best I've had. Try the 13 degrees (that's the starting sugar).

BBQ in Texas is a tough gig. There are so many good ones and a few great ones around. I really wanted to like this one. The staff is friendly, the place is convenient, but the BBQ was disappointing. I am hoping it was the BBQ sauce ( I made the mistake of telling them, "Sure put some on." But even the meat I ate that wasn't covered in sauce, just wasn't good.
