BBQ in Texas is a tough gig. There are so many good ones and a few great ones around. I really wanted to like this one. The staff is friendly, the place is convenient, but the BBQ was disappointing. I am hoping it was the BBQ sauce ( I made the mistake of telling them, "Sure put some on." But even the meat I ate that wasn't covered in sauce, just wasn't good. (Not horrible but any means, but come on, it's brisket!) And by the way, the brisket was moist seemed to have a decent bark, and the ribs fell off the bone, it just wasn't that good. The sides were good enough and the people were pleasant enough for me to give this place another shot though. Maybe it was just a bad day. They do have a small brewery on site (limited hours), for those who like to support local breweries. Call for hours.

Went to Al's bbq today to pick up a pound of brisket to take home. The parking lot was full which means the food must be good also fish Friday. The brisket was perfectly smoked and very tender. I didn't get fish but by the way it was selling it had to be good.

The employees were super friendly. The BBQ was deliciously good and fairly priced. Highly recommend for any BBQ lovers out there.

We did not get the opportunity dine at Al's. But we did get to enjoy Czech style lagers at Tanglefoot Brewery, the dark larger was one of the best I've had. Try the 13 degrees (that's the starting sugar).

We just moved here from St. Louis. I knew before hand the BBQ in TX was overrated. Baked beans wasn't even an option and they only had one sauce to choose from. WTH? The brisket was ok but I could make it better in my cheap smoker in my back yard. I am not sure what the standard is in TX but this is way below the Midwest BBQ standard.

Al's is best in town. When everybody else has high price chip beef sandwich, theirs are only $3.50
We ordered sausage wraps and chopped beef sandwiches with potato salad. The potato salad was ok, the sausage was a bit dry but ok tasting. However....now, I was severely disappointed in the chopped beef sandwiches. There was enough grease to lube an engine, which in turn soaked the thin buns. There were extremely thin pickles placed on only one side of the bun. So, we basically ate soggy buns with greasy meat, with a BBQ sauce taste. My husband and I were both very disappointed. I can remember eating at this place as a child, and the food definitely is not even comparable to what is used to be. I'm sorry I could only give 1 star for the fairly decent potato salad.

The place looked good and the BBQ smell when I got out of my truck was great ?. The brisket was tough, dry and salty. If it had a grill flavor you couldn't tell because of the salt. From reading reviews this maybe just a single bad day, I hope. Oh, no pork!?!

" Don't let the looks fool you."That being said I would like to ask that you all please try it, if you love all things bbq then this place is for you, the brisket was moist and full of flavors, the potato salad was amazing as well as the coleslaw. The flavor of the bbq sauce was very pleasing and didn't overtake the flavor of meat.The price I paid for me and my wife was crazy I would have expected to pay way more,I hope you all take the time to try it. I know you will be able to enjoy a family friendly chill environment.I hope you all have a great day.
