“This place has pretty good food, we did enjoy the meal. The service was great. However, there was one strong theme we noticed. Everything needed salt, nothing was cooked with salt or seasonings as far as we could tell. If you're into that, fine. If you aren't, be aware.“
“Bill's is an excellent grill with that old-time atmosphere. The staff is friendly and the food is very good. It's right across the street from the VA, so the crowd is mostly veterans. All around, it's a great bunch of people.“
“Was in the Temple area today on business around lunchtime. I Googled “best restaurants in Temple” and Oscar Store popped up with the reviews stating “best chicken fried steak hands down”. Well, that’s a mighty bold claim I’ve heard MANY times before, and I’ve literally tried them all over Texas. I wanted to check out this mythical place for myself. I got the CFS plate with mashed potatoes and fried okra. Holy Cow!! It didn’t disappoint!Chicken Fried Steak Plate 9/10 - the meat was a thicker cut than most. I personally don’t like the beat to death, paper thin sliver that’s all crust. This my friends was a CFS with substance. The meat was seasoned well. The batter was crispy and well flavored. The gravy was above average and very good. I really enjoyed it!Mashed Potatoes 8/10 - good consistency and texture. The flavor and overall vibe of the potatoes was they were homemade. Gravy was same as CFS.Fried Okra 6/10 - nothing special here. Seemed like run of the mill frozen okra. They were still good though.Roll 9/10 - not sure what kind of roll they put in the plate, but it sure was good. Almost seemed like a honey butter flavored roll?Service 9/10 - everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. Can’t say enough about the small town hospitality! Thank y’all!Atmosphere 8/10 - old building with rustic charm. I think it was built in 1932 originally. Lots of cool items inside and out.Overall 9/10 - highly recommend you try it out if you’re in the area. Heck, we might road trip from NB to try it again! It’s worth it!!“
“We had a wait time that was quoted at 15 minutes, but the front room was very welcoming of waiting, so I didn't even notice the 15 minutes me and my friend and I were super comfortable chatting up front! The menu had so many different options, but I settled on the Benedict qith queso and jalopeno bacon on waffles! It was absolutely phenomenal ! I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family, and their food was phenomenal!“
“We had so much fun. The atmosphere was great, the band wasn't good but the music they played while the band was on break was fantastic, the drinks and food was good and of course the people there were friendly. We most definitely will be going back.“
“Met a group of 20+ of my highschool classmates on a Friday for lunch. Parking was not a problem and there was plenty of room inside as well as outside seating of desired. We really enjoyed our time together! Our single waitress did an awesome job taking our orders and keeping our glasses full. We received our orders in an appropriate amount of time for such a big group. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I must see that my Philly Cheese Steak was awesome, one of the best! My husband had a grilled chicken place which he also enjoyed.“
“My family and I tend to be on a late schedule, so we love places that offer breakfast all day (as well as lunch and dinner as this place does). Is a cute, open space, diner that is kid friendly and has variety for them to eat as well. I ordered a breakfast burger with fries, kids french toast, and a veggie omelet with blueberry pancakes. It all came out at the same time, had pretty presentations, was hot, and absolutely delicious. This is the best breakfast spot I've been to in so so long and am just overjoyed to have found it! Waitress was also so sweet, just spectacular service all around.“
“We dined here during a stay (we are from the UK) and were looked-after by Marlee, great food and service- especially for the children who were still a little jet-lagged. Would definitely recommend for travellers & families.Kid-friendliness: Were great with ours, who were tired and a bit grumpy (before!)“
“This place is a lot of fun. My son loves the games. The batting cages are kinda slow so that's a bummer but we'll still go since theres no other batting cages like these around. Food is ok for standard bar food. Will be back again soon for the games.“
“Everything was great. Our food and our service. If you are wanting something for everyone in the family come to bjs and ask for Cameron he made sure all our needs were met and got our food out fast! The manager Kris was very attentive as well he stopped by our table to make sure everything came out accordingly. All around a great experience!“
“The lady working was extremely nice, and very knowledgeable and helpful. The meals were actually really good, including the "fit meals" too! Normally a "healthier" meal with replacements for the noodles or something is very hit or miss, but we loved the ones we got, and we loved that they were all 400 calories or under. The turkey meatballs would probably my favorite. The baked goods like the cookies were so so good as well. We live in Killeen and don't go to Temple often, but we will be stopping here every time we do now!“
“Can't beat this place for quality meats at a fair price. I love the $55 pack. I get lots of stuff. They've been serving Temple for decades and I hope they are around for many more years. Maybe my favorite store in all of Temple Land.“
“We always enjoy eating here. Love the rolls and there is always large portions. We always leave with full happy tummies.Parking: We went at a peak time so parking lot was very full.Kid-friendliness: Great place to take kids. It’s such a lively atmosphere.“
“Home cooking that isn't your typical no so healthy "comfort" food. There are a LOT of tantalizing options making deciding on a meal quite difficult. The establishment is clean & nice looking with ample seating, yet not crowded.Ye Old English Bakery closing was a huge loss for Temple that likely will never be matched. However, Suzy Q's is a great addition to take over that space.“
