No Business should be RUDE because of poor food. Now, I was not going to leave a review from the 19th of January, because the lady I spoked to was nice and offered my husband to come back in for the order to remade because they were closing for the weekend. So, we could not go back. He arrived about 515pm on the 19th and PAID for 12 links that I asked him to get. When he got home the links was old & smaller than my chihuahua pee pee. When I bit into one the skin was tough and it was VERY SPICY, which let me know they were old and dehydrated. I was not happy, at all. I told my husband to check his food before leaving out of a food drive-thu and return it promptly if it is not up to standards. These ladies will not eat these links like this nor feed it to their families. It is sad because at the end of it all the business will go lacking customers though we all love our links. On top of bad food the rudeness tops it all for me. No one needs anything FREE, we ALL want is what we paid for. The links has gone up, and even it it was 50 cents each, we still want satisfaction food. So, today my husband calls because he wanted to make sure links was fresh since they was closing soon. He gave his name and told him the situation, but the lady got made told him she has 6 and slam the phone down, I wish I had kept the old links but who gonna keep food for 2weeks. Had they told us to return it on that day, it would came like it went to the trash. My husband did not know what to say when they got rude with him and think they will spit in his food. So he said he ate it. HE DID NOT BC I TRASHED IT. It was too spicy for him but I trashed them, so he lied. I told him, tell people the truth. Stop accepting nasty food that he pays for. We don't need hand me outs but want good food for our money. STOP SERVING CUSTOMERS FOOD YALL WILL NOT EAT! Then gets a attitude if we say something. No customers should have to address this matter in the 1st place. Restaurants knows what they should be doing to served food. My husband was on his way to get links, but I prefer to be with him since women thinks they can talk to these men's any kind f rude way, I will be there with up most respect to be on standby. I don't do disrespect. It is why we don't eat there weekly like we use to. We eat every so often and many times took a lost for bad food when we did eat. Not this year. I am doing reviews, reports and more this year. There is one lady that has been there a long time and she is very sweet. I don't know her by name but do by face and she has great CS. So, not everyone is rude. (Typed quickly and no proofreading was done, but hope it is clear). Thank you

Love this place. The links are one of a kind and very good. My dad took us there as children.

these hot links use to taste so deliciou but now Pittsburg hot links have gone down in taste and in being popular. Folks use to come from all over this small town in Pittburg, Tx. but now Pittsburg hot links is just a good memory of how good they use to taste.

Ate here this past Sat. 5/14. I was born and raised in Pittsburg and have always loved this place, but this visit, not so much. First of all the girl at the register was not friendly at all, actually border line rude. Ordered a cheeseburger and onion rings. Onion rings were good, but the burger was served with a thick, gummy, potato bun which was not appetizing at all. I barely ate 1/2 of it. It will be a while, if I return at all.

I always make it a point to go to Pittsburg for the hot links if I am in East Texas. I usually buy about 4 dozen because I have friends that are addicted to them too. Very nostalgic restaurant to sit and enjoy a few hot links as well. They are not really hot unless you dip them in the sauce that comes with them. For my to go orders they listen to me and wrap them up so that I do not make a mess in my van. Very professional in that regard. My advice is to go because you will not regret it.

Have eaten there since they opened and the hot links for the past 50 years. Today it was quite a shock. First noticed that they don’t have any prices posted. The hot links looked different in the bins but didn’t think much about it since they always tasted great. At checkout they charged 3.99% to use a card too. Offered discount for cash. The hot links were darker than usual, and hardly any grease which should have been a clue. They did not taste anything like the hot links I have always had there. Maybe the pandemic has even affected my beloved Pittsburg Hot Links. Not saying that they weren’t good, they were…..they just weren’t Pittsburg Hot Links that have been the same for decades. Sad to see that everything does change, even the hot links.

If I could give less than 1 star I would after my last visit. I do not care for these hotlinks however some of my family does and I have been making the 3 hour trip to Pittsburg for years to purchase boxes of them. NEVER AGAIN!!! We arrived and ordered food to eat while I thought they were getting my purchase ready that I paid for when we paid for our dinner. I had a bowl of chili that was barely even warm. After a few minutes, the grease started sticking to the top of my mouth - it was that cold. I asked for a container to take it home. My friend had a hotlink sandwich which was too tough to even bite into. When I went to get the sausages - 4 boxes that I had already paid for, I was told that they only had one box....but would be happy to sell me a 30 pound box for another $100. I was told the 30 pound box is frozen into one large block. If they were out, I should have been informed at the beginning and they should have never charged me if they were out. I make the drive to pick up these sausages and they charge $25 for a 5 pound box. If you order them online, they charge $53.50 for a 5 pound box plus FedEX Express shipping. What a scam and ripoff! I would be ashamed to run a business in this manner! After being a customer for many years, I will now say NEVER AGAIN!

Absolutely terrible customer service . Would give zero if we could. . We had never been here before. I ordered four beef hot links and for some reason ended up with 20 after asking for help because I didn’t know how they counted out the hot links. The ladies behind the counter basically just laughed it off as she at first put forty hot links on two plates and I again said I just want four links. So not knowing what they thought was four links I ended up at checkout with twenty links. The wait staff is extremely young and obviously have no customer service experience. They never even asked while we ate if we needed anything and my wife had to go get her Cole slaw because they forgot it. We will not be going back there again .

This place was really good, but I am new to Texas and wanted to clarify more for other newbies. * "Big Red" is just a soda. You can get it at the supermarket. It has caffeine, so I'd compare it to Mountain Dew Red. They also have a diet version, and Rhea's had both. * The chili was good. It had no beans and, yes, was greasy/oily. That's not necessarily a bad thing. I'd compare it to Tommy's chili from Los Angeles. I think Rhea's was *less greasy* and I liked it better. * For "hot links," I think of something like from Top Dog in Berkeley. As others have noted, these are East Texas hot links, which are smaller and different. Most importantly, I didn't think they were very hot! It's more like they have a good kick, but I don't see how you could burn your tongue, like compared to wasabi or a jalapeno. * They also have hot sauce, which is kinda hot. Tasty. * Bread was good. Bread + hot links also good. * The hot links themselves were epic! I don't have the taster jargon to adequately describe them. I'll just say they were exquisite. Not overpowering. Not burning. Exquisite. As I write this, I feel like I could eat 20 hot links right now. They are a treat! * The workers also seemed very kind. * They have specific hours! Basically, weekdays during the day, except for Wednesday. See pic.

I love this place the best East texas hot links ever. I've been eating her for decades. Every time I'm in two I stop in and get two dozens a large bowl of chilli oh can't forget the big red on top!!

This is the true hidden gem of Tyler. If you are just hearing about Rheas, you have to go. This is THE spot. Nicest ladies behind the counter. Delicious hot links with bread and a cold big red to wash it all down. Perfect for a Texas summer day, or spring, or fall, or winter day lol, you get the drift. Go eat this delicious, greasy, southern goodness! God bless.
