If you are looking for a place with good southern and soul food. This is your place. The menu changes daily so I would recommend calling ahead. They do serve smothered pork chops daily. Love the meatloaf, fried chicken, salmon croquettes, cornbread, mashed potatoes and greens. Must try the german chocolate cake and you got have some of that Grape Kool-aid. Food is presented cafeteria style. Table space is limited.
It was pretty good, but I got there late, after they had pretty much closed and was only able to get leftovers. Price was a little on the high side for what I got, but..eh.The owners were friendly and appreciative. I like spending my money in my old community though. I will try them again next time I'm in Tyler, but I'll be sure to get there earlier. Hopefully they'll have more of a selection.
