“My wife and I were told, we had to try this place. On the town square in Valley View, a great little cafe with a wonderful atmosphere and friendly staff. The food that we ordered was very good and I was impressed with their variety of Mexican dishes a variety I haven’t yet seen since moving to this area, along with traditional items. The pancakes were amazing, I can tell that they have a special recipe for them, because they have a type of creamy sweet flavor. I tried the Chicken Fried Chicken and hash browns and it was delicious. I can’t wait to go back and get there breakfast burrito.”
“Really enjoyed this hole-n-the-wall kind of place. The 4s on the food was only because I asked for an over easy egg on my burger and it wasn't. Minor...minor thing. Good flavor, good fries, sp fries, onion rings. Really good burgers. If I get near here again, I will be back!”
“We are visiting Texas while on vacation and stopped in at this place and its is awesome. My wife and I had came in 45 minutes before they cosed. The staff was super chill. Some of the best tasting whiskey, moonshine and rum. We both got the flight of 4 and loved it. We went home with bottle of peach moonshine. But the pirates brew rum is where it's at.”
“The lobster bisque is worth the hour drive from Dallas. It’s better than Pappas Brothers (my previous gold standard)! The bruschetta is the best I’ve ever had. The flatbreads are wonderful, and a glass of their Saturn Missile red wine is soulful and perfect. I’m shocked and delighted to find an experience this good in a small town. Must try!”
“Listen, this gas station is sketchy as fuq and it's in Bassett hood foo but, Hot damn they make some fire ars Chicken. Even the meth Headz over there will tell you that the chicken is Crack.”
“Last week was the first time we visited this excellent restaurant. But It is obviously not the last time. We had great time with the attentive service, with the finest meal and wine and with the modest price. We will surely return there soon.”
“The coconut creme pie is very delicious. The best we’ve ever had. The peach tea is way better than Starbucks. And much cheaper. They should add more sizes because it’s so ”
“portions are kind of small but all the food here is delicious they have sauces and chips and fudge and all sorts of stuff i love this place I always stop by when I'm in town”
“The smoked chicken sandwich revived my soul! Stopped by on a rainy afternoon. The effort to find their new location was well rewarded.Get there early to get the best pick of desserts!”
“Man this is a must stop if you are in Gainesville. Old time downtown restaurant. Breakfast was great and our waitress was awesome. The inside of the restaurant had an old town nostalgic feel. Definitely stop in and eat ”
“Terrific place. If you live close by or are just passing through, it’s worth it. We sat at the bar (bartender was Tommye and she was great!) - great atmosphere. Had burgers - the Hellfire is amazing (aka Hellraiser). Kroots Lime Lite was a great drink as well. Nice getting something a little different. Lots to choose from and worth the stop, trust me! Can’t wait to come back.”
“Food is a bit overseasoned but you do get all you can eat sides. Came on a day with their staff periodically singing and dancing and still decently to great service. Been a long time since I was here but the signs and decorations + birthday chicken hat and dance = great atmosphere.”
“Very good food, huge portions and great service. My first time to visit but it won't be the last. I had the catfish dinner and it was a platter of deliciousness. Pricing was a steal. Great restaurant.”
“Everything about Sarah’s is incredible! The decor is perfect for his old building, the staff is friendly and attentive, and the food is out of this world. It’s the best burger I have ever eaten! If you are ever in Gainesville, stopping at Sarah’s is a must!”
“Perfect little stop for pizza or pasta! Everything is fresh and made in-house. The Alfredo sauce is amazing, and the pizza is great! If you like wings, don't pass up the buffalo wings! A must stop if you're in the area :)”
“This is my favorite bar in Sanger, and probably in all of Texas. It’s a great atmosphere any time of day or night. Great specials every day. Amazing service and the staff are amazing and lovely. I love the new Belts that say Revival- very cute and great advertising. Drinks are great they have some very delicious holiday inspired cocktails and shots- cookie Christmas shot was a hit. The Raspberry Lemonade low sugar cocktail was very tasty and keep my blood sugar in a good range while enjoying a very tasty adult drink.”
“Honestly, I was a little skeptical because no one was here, but I'm glad my son said, "Let's go!" I loved the atmosphere, and the food (Smash Burger)was absolutely wonderful!!!”
“I eat here all the time. Today we only had a short lunch at work and I came in with a pocket-full of orders from my coworkers shortly after Hippo opened their doors. The staff was awesome! They completed the orders quickly and with military precision asking to make sure everything was correct. They truly shined today”
“Somebody needs to put me on pastry restriction! I love everything here. The strudel, fried pies, kolaches, bread and other treats. My granddaughter likes the chocolate fried pies. They are good but I like the Apple strudel and fruit fried pies.Parking: Plenty of parking. If you are getting back on I35, it’s easier to stay in the service road, go down through the light, stay on the service road to enter I35 that way. The construction makes it difficult to enter right there by Rumpy’s and it’s a blind merge.Kid-friendliness: A little souvenir area with fun stuff for kids. I’m going to get a couple of those rubber squawking chickens next time I’m in.”
“The food is always outstanding! We always come back when we can. We had a friend of ours try it and she loved it. My potato was really good! Don’t miss out on this place, it sells fast!”
“We had a FANTASTIC experience at Combs Coffee. The owner talked passionately about his trade, and made us the best coffee we have ever tasted. We will be visiting often!!”
“This place blew me away, family came and had breakfast at this spot and it was amazing. The prices were spot on and the amount of food and the quality you get can't be best. Definitely my go to breakfast spot in Sanger.”
“We were in town for a show at the casino, we stayed at a motel about a mile from this bbq spot. My goal was to find a hole in the wall BBQ place those are the best ones that have BBQ! I am not a fan of big Corp food industries. I love to support a true hard working American. I'm so glad Google recommended this guy, I read all his reviews and i said this is where I am going to go. Boy boy I do not regret this decision! This is by the best BBQ I have ever had! I live an hr and 43 minutes from jazs bbq and there is not anything good bbq place within in those miles!”
“Why don't you serve rice? A lot of times I go across the street to Taco bell and get rice and casadeias. Oh yes, too many chips and not enough cheese on the nachos. The cheese is so thick you can barely eat it.”
“Chutnie at the payment window tonight was wonderful! Super friendly and helpful. Give this lovely lady a raise! ?Dietary restrictions: No bun as I'm gluten free”
“Incredible organic health food store. Home cooked lunch, organic coffee, delicious shakes and home made cakes. The owners are so knowledgeable about health AND have a bookstore. Go visit!”
“Getting a chicken strip meal for my Mom set me back $16.00+ for her alone, with only one side.Vegetarian options: Menu has a few vegetarian sides, and I recommend the fried okra as breading is mostly cornmeal.Dietary restrictions: No gluten-free items.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible.”
“This is taco shop is awesome. I’ve had my share of authentic Mexican food and this place is up there. Highly recommend stopping by for your Mexican food craving if you’re in the Gainesville area.”
“First time visit, food was great, service good, nice casual atmosphere. Price was reasonable about $2 less than other Mexican restaurants with the same food item. I found out they have two locations and they have been in business since 1996.”
“My other favorite Mexican joint is also inside a gas station so I may be biased ?. Honestly stumbled across this place on a road trip and imagined average tex-mex. NO! THIS IS BY NO MEANS AVERAGE.This place has all the best qualities of a hole in the wall authentic restaurant shoved into a gas station with a simple menu done PERFECT.I only had the tacos, beans, rice and churro. Based on how good these were though, I would be SHOCKED if anything they offer was subpar. They have some of the best meat I've ever had in a taco. Fresh off the grill , with a good amount of char on every piece. Onion, herbs , and lime on the side in a simple corn tortilla and the fresh fried churro? !! They do the simple stuff and just hit it out of the park. This is universal comfort food!”
