“Let me start by saying it's going to be a while before you get your food. The kitchen is small, and only one person is cooking. That being said, it's worth the wait. The food is made to order so it's hot when you get it. With the exception of the rolls, everything is made in house. If I'm wrong about the rolls, she needs to open a bakery. The jury is out about the coleslaw being done in house, but if you're a slaw snob like I am, you're going to like it. Girlfriend said the mashed potatoes were the best she's had from a commercial kitchen. Tonight's special was fried chicken. So this is where this place separates itself from others.. This was home-style fried chicken, not the breaded crap that everyone else serves.. Skin-on chicken pieces that are spiced to perfection. Keep in mind that anything fried is best enjoyed wishing minutes of being served. So if you get it to go, it's not expected to be crispy after that 10-15 minute drive home. With all that being said, call in your order early, and eat dine in. I will definitely be returning. Chef Del.“
“the food was amazing, the lady was kind and was very lovely to speak too, she had actually made one of the dishes we ate and was very exited that we ordered and enjoyed! overall lovely experience, but i will say the restaurant was very cold, thankfully we all had jackets so that was not a big deal, thank you for the service and great food!!“
“We started with the noodle fried shrimp appetizer. It's basically ramen wrapped around straightened shrimp that's fried until it's light and crispy. They were so good we devoured them before I could snap a pic. Served with sweet Thai chili sauce. The main event was the shrimp platter that was excellent. Panko crusted, grilled, and chicken fried shrimp. Excellent!“
“My wife and I were in Victoria for a wedding and we happened to stumble across The Pumphouse after we asked Siri for lunch suggestions. What a great place! The restaurant is near a river and had a neat atmosphere. The servers provided first class service. So very polite and professional. She made excellent suggestions and made us feel at home. The food was delicious and the drinks were great! All in all a very nice place that felt high class with reasonable prices.“
