First time here today and plan to return. Ordered fried hard catfish and THEY DID NOT DISAPPOINT! I had a hangry GF who wanted some and was great to know I could stay in the area for some GREAT PRICED AND GREAT SOUL food here locally.

I waited awhile but it was worth the wait everything was great smothered wings yams collards in my years of eating out this was the 1st time I called to give accolades to a restaurant and I cater soul food as well

I'm sure the food could be better, so I will give it a try again. The greens were ok. The cabbage was very good, and so were the yams and the mac n cheese. The spicy fish was not spicy. The chicken and dressing had a burnt after taste. I think I was overcharged because I could not understand why the extra $7 was on my ticket... unless she charged for the water and because I asked how the peach cobbler was. I will try it again for redemption. Best of luck!❤️

This was our first time eating here . My husband and I it’s truly a hidden place on the end of town. Our food was delicious. I had Catfish, Candy Yams , Collard Greens . My husband had the Fried Chicken Wings , Mash Potatoes, we both had the Red Beans they were delicious also. The food was served hot, and seasoned very well. The only down fall was the Hot Water Cornbread it was not good. I’m not sure what kind of meal they use, but it was very gummy .I make it all the time so I know how it should taste. But other than that we enjoyed our meal . And will be back. Hope was our server she was very nice .

Wet in, music was blaring. Neighbors sitting across from us asked the waiter if she would turn the music down. They were told "no". I couldn't think, it was so loud. We left.

I didn't like the fact that they didn't bring our meals all at once. It was only two of us. My wife ordered the special and received her meal shortly after placing our orders. I had to wait about another 5 minutes after my wife received her plate before I got mine. We would have preferred to start eating together. Plating and serving a table all at once is typically the case at any other restaurant.When I finally got my food, the oxtails were too salty. The peach cobbler was way too sweet and just didn't taste that good to me. I was done with it after the first bite. My sides were okay, and I did like the hot water cornbread. So it wasn't a completely bad experience.

Really want to support local business but the food is way too salty here. From the side dishes ( green collard) to the fried catch fish. Way too much sodium! The chest needs a real assessment of taste maybe they been cooking for so long that that can’t tell when thing is too salty?The only thing that was great was candies yam

I called in an order for the meatloaf. The website states you get 2 pieces. When I picked up the order, I had 1 small piece. I mentioned I didnt get two. I decided to buy another piece, which was fine, but the rude and insulting comments and bad attitude from the lady in the kitchen was unnecessary. The remainder of the staff and service was great. Food was great but bad comments from the lady in the kitchen was reason enough for only 4 stars.
