Tasty BBQ. Good variety of meats and sides. Friendly helpful service. Good price. Clean restaurant. Brisket and pulled pork were especially tender

Cool BBQ atmosphere! Waited in line about 30 mins. Got the family meal. We had brisket, ribs, turkey, chicken and sausage. Sides collared greens, baked potato casserole, jalapeño corn. Sides were good but small portions. Meats were good. Brisket a little dry. Overall a good meal.

I just experienced the worst customer service from this establishment. There is no decorum or respect of others. We were yelled at twice by who I’m assuming is the owner. I get it, it’s lunch time and no holding tables are permitted but there is a way to go about it. Not scream at us. So embarrassing.. When our full party of 26 showed up we ordered and sat down to eat after we were done the owner sister yelled at us to make sure we threw our trash out. It made me wonder if they do this to all their customers or just their foreign customers as majority of us was from Spain. If this place wasn’t where my boss wanted to eat for his last day in Lubbock we would of left after the first interaction but he was leaving back home to Spain after being in Texas for 4 years for work. Maybe they didn’t like the fact everyone was speaking in Spanish.. Who knows, all I know is I lost all respect for this place and will not be eating here no longer. It’s a shame, first time I’ve ever experienced this type of treatment.

Loved it all! I was in town for business and the client suggested we go to Evie Mae's. I figured it'd be ok. I can be a bit picky with bbq. First off, it's busy. They had beer to sample while you waited. I didn't try it but thought it was a cool touch. We decided to get a family meal and share. It had 4 meats and we added a few extra sides than what came included. We also added on the jalapeño corn bread. First, the brisket was amazing. Best I've ever had. I will compare all bbq restaurants to Evie Mae's mostly because of this brisket. We also had sausage, pulled pork and turkey. They were out of chicken and ribs. We had baked potato casserole, potato salad, beans and the green chile cheese grits ( which were out of this world) Everything was delicious. Including the banana pudding and Texas sheet cake. Try them out if you're anywhere close! Worth the wait and the drive, I promise!

One of the best BBQ places. Everything is top notch. Just make sure you get there early because they do sell out and it gets packed.

Most tender brisket I have ever eaten. I tried the turkey, burnt ends, brisket, and ribs. Next time, I'm getting straight brisket, and maybe a couple of ribs. It's not something I should be eating every day, but I could.

Real Deal BBQ in WTX, this is the second time I've been to this BBQ spot and I've been impressed both time. Service line is super fast and efficient and the atmosphere is really relaxed, Beer is on tap or in a water trough grab and go style witch is a very unique experience. This time I decided to see what the poultry was all about, the turkey had the perfect amount of spice and the half chicken was some of the juiciest I've had off of a pit. Of course we are in TX who can forget about the brisket they do it up right, delicious with or without the sauce. Side 1: Pinto Bean a refreshing contrast form the normal BBQ baked bean most places serve these come with the right amount of seasoning to make you want a second bite. 2 Baked Potato Casserole is truly spectacular perfectly creamy and cheesy you'll be mad you didn't order more

Excellence in execution. Very clean and organized establishment with lots of staff and parking. There was a line, but it moved quickly. Menu was clear and concise and easy to read.I ordered the three meat plate with brisket, ribs, and jalapeño sausage. Particularly surprising to me was the pork ribs. Truly some of the best I've ever had. Brisket was up there stuff the best I've eaten as well. Not only great food, but a five star restaraunt experience which quite honestly is rare in the barbecue industry. I will be returning any time I'm in lubbock!

We were in town Sunday, March 10 and heard about Evie Mae's on the Texas monthly list. They posted a surprise 'we're closed today' mere minutes before time to open. After looking at the menu the night before and studying the menu, we had our hearts set on it and skipped breakfast to fully enjoy the experience. We even drove by before church at around 9:15am to see if there would be a line, there was no sign on the door at that time indicating they would be closed. So we went to church anticipating good things after we would get out. Show back up at 10 minutes to 11 and there is the sign 'closed today'. Needless to say I was very aggravated. I can understand that people have lives and situations might come up or emergencies, but you are running a business and should take it seriously. Have a contingency plan to keep the doors open when you promise and stick to it. If you need to permanently change your hours make sure to publish it months in advance and make sure the announcements and documentation goes out to all sources at least 2 months before so people don't make plans. If you are on the Texas monthly list, people will be traveling to try your food. This is beyond inconsiderate. If I'm ever back in Lubbock, I doubt I'll give this place another shot because they have shown themselves untrustworthy.

First picture is of a half pound brisket sandwich. Wait! What? It's gone! Of course it's gone. It WAS oh, so good. You could eat like a sandwich but it was stacked so high I used a knife and fork. Unless you have a really large mouth you'll want a knife and fork also. Oh, it was good.

Fast line, came early. Family friendly. Food was good for west Texas bbq. Service was polite and informative. Banana pudding was light and fluffy but needed more cookies. Collard greens were quite nice best I've had on this side of Texas. Cheesey grits by far the best side. Brisket could have been hotter and more flavor just tasted Smokey meat. Ribs were rendered perfectly but wish it had more salt. Sausage casing was more stiff than I'd like, forcemeat was good.

This place offers barbecue that is true to the Texas tradition. Theres a lot of good barbecue to be had in the Hub City area, but not all brisket is created equal. They truly merit their place among Texas Monthly’s top lineup. I highly recommend trying them out. Thank you for cranking out some of the best barbecue in Texas.
