It's a pity they are closing at the end of December. This bakery is truly a Salt Lake City downtown gem. The Ammans are the best. I'm not quite sure how they could be better, there seems to be the perfect mixture of ingredients baked at the perfect time to result in something that is literally, not of this mortal existence.

Remodeling closed the inside dining area, and it was 30F outside, so that was out of the question. There were 8 or so pastry selections. Luckily, that have a coffee barista machine, so there’s that.

This is my farewell review to the greatest pastries Salt Lake City has ever known. No exaggeration. No lies. I eat a lot of pastry. I love pastry. These are the gold standard. There is no one better. If you ask the competition who has the best pastry, they will tell you that everyone is competing for second, Les Madeleines is first. I have never been disappointed in anything I've got here. Their soup? Grilled cheese? The KOUIGNN AMANN? If you've never had a kouignn amann, do yourself a favor and come here before they close forever on December 30. Or don't. Because for the rest of your life, you will dream of what was the most perfect pastry of your life. I am currently trying to figure out how to buy 1000 of them and if they will freeze well. It's not promising. Looking forward to getting one last lunch here, and probably crying the entire time. I really can't overstate how wonderful this place and what a staple it is in the community. I will miss it terribly. On a completely unrelated note, they also have the cutest boxes. Nothing to do with food, I know, but it's worth getting a few pastries to go just for the packaging. It is next level.

Fabulous breakfast sandwich and pastries. I try to stop here every time I'm in slc. Perfection!

This place is so quiet and it needs more attention. They're not proceed. The food is great. The coffee is awesome! I got to Tokyo matcha and got to try my friends drink. It was amazing

Incredible Croissants. Best I have had in USA and I heartily recommend this small business. The only downside is you have to eat them outside. Coffee is good too.

This is a hidden gem. The food and pastries are incredibly delicious. I enjoyed the house breakfast sandwich (mad muffin ) and a kouing Amanda which is a specialty pastry they are known for. I would eat both daily if I could. The staff is extremely friendly and were patient as I took my time figuring out what to order. We ate outside in a designated seating area that was well shaded, comfortable, and inviting.I will definitely return for more treats on my next visit to Salt Lake City, Utah.

MUST VISIT.Incredible experience. In town shortly for work, wife’s birthday was today. Stopped in on a tip from a chef friend, left delighted! She really loves her birthday and the staff made a big deal about it in a super fun way. She felt super celebrated. The kouign amann was life changing. And peep that croissant! Incredible. Canelé was great. I mean everything was great. Go here.

WOW; rarely do I have this wonderful of a food experience. I was recommended Les Madeleines by a close friend who has the utmost high food standards, so I knew it would be excellent. However, my expectations were exceeded. The store is so aesthetic and the employees calm and kind. The pastry packaging is so cute that I made it into part of my wall collage after. I ordered the chocolate croissant, which was warm and delicious, and then the Kouing Aman. It was one of the best pastries I've had. It was warm from the oven, soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. I was almost emotional eating it. It was New York and Paris-level good. I'm planning on coming back most days before work. Excellent!

Some of the best pastries I’ve ever had. It’s a cute little bakery with a nice patio and good overall atmosphere. I ordered:Kouing Amann - Sensational! The crunchy, glossy exterior with light flakey layers transforms to a soft moist doughy center. Perfectly sweet with butter, nut, and Carmel flavor notes. One of the best pastries I’ve had in my life.Hazelnut macaron- Delicious, light, airy, and not overly sweet or overpowering flavor. Just right!Caramel macaron- Very good but not as great as the Hazelnut. The deep caramel flavor was intense.

Enjoyed coffee and breakfast at Les Madeleines twice while visiting Salt Lake City. The Mad Muffin was incredible. Coffee was fantastic, but the pastries were insane! The KOUIGN AMANN is the most amazing pastries I've ever had. It was crisp and sweet and buttery! We sat on the tables outside and enjoyed it so much we came back again the next day.

Canneles we're rock hard and tasted lemony. London Fog tasted like plain earl grey with milk and they first made it with half and half so it had to be remade. Vanilla latte tasted like an ashtray. Wouldn't come back or recommend.

Les Madeleines was a surprising find! My wife and I bought macarons, pain au chocolat, an eclair, and all were delicious. The employees were warm and friendly when they helped us. We will definitely come gere again.
