Lydia and Helen are up early to make sure people can begin their day with great coffee and kind smiles! I so appreciate their hospitality and expertise. Lydia is an excellent barista.Very convenient for those staying at any of the several hotels in the area, this shop is located in the lobby of Renaissance. They have several sandwiches, pastries and snacks available as well as hot and cold beverages. They have indoor or outdoor seating, or you can take to go. Remember to ask for a mug if you are enjoying your order in their restaurant or in the beautiful lobby of the hotel…one less cup to the landfill.Update: I went by a bit earlier today and the commuter crowd was lined up. Helen was handling the barista counter and got everyone their orders quickly, with that wonderful smile and the quality perfect, as expected!

This Illy was right across the way from our hotel so we thought we'd give it a go. The pros: the service was good, the drinks came up quickly, the layout of the shop was nice, and coffee was smooth and not bitter. The cons: The prices are really high for what you get. The drink was overly sweet - which another reviewer mentioned and I sadly did not listen to. The fruit cup I purchased was $7 which was just plain nuts. Ill be back because its the best option for coffee in the area (which isnt exceptionally high praise - this area isnt a great place for good food or coffee)

I checked in early last Wednesday and was warmly welcomed and accommodated by Savion and Stephanie because my suite was not ready as I stated above due to my early arrival. Of no fault of theirs, I wanted a different room with accessible features because of a family member. I returned to front desk and while Savion helped another guest Stephanie right away started to search for an accessible room for me. After contacting Head of Housekeeping, she assured of time when the new room would be available. I thanked her and told her I would return at time given. Like clockwork when I returned to front desk my room was ready and Stephanie who was off at the time was calling Lauren who was serving me to ensure my new room was available. Lauren made the process as smooth as possible. Stephanie, Savion, Lauren are ALL STARS and go above and beyond to make guests comfortable. Apart from these ALL STARS the rooms were very clean and spacious and allowed for a wonderful restful evening. Marriott Renaissance Arlington at Capital View will now be my place to stay whenever I am in the DC area not just because of the proximity, cleanliness and comfort but because of the amazing front desk staff of Stephanie, Savion and Lauren that I came into contact with during my stay.

Just love the ladies in the cafe, very pleasant and efficient. The coffee beans are very good quality and especially Abbey she makes it just like I like it. I am a long time customer and I have seem a significant price increase that is beyond the inflation rate. If continued you will loose customers including the hotel customers and eventually the coffee shop which would be sad. Don’t be too greedy.

I ordered a new drink: the Lavender Mint cold coffee. It was delicious! The barista Lidia, was so nice and quick service. We were getting ready to head to the airport so this drink was perfection before the plane.

The service here is spectacular! It is in a convenient location if you are in a nearby hotel and it is easy to get in and out of. The food was okay but not great and the coffee options are so-so. It is in a hotel and a small space, so not a great coffee shop vibe, but great for a quick cup of coffee or a bite.

Illy coffee is the best and excellent customer service, everyday. Thank you

Cute place bad espresso. Somewhere an Italian barista sobs. The double espresso was an American sized coffee portion. Flavor was distinctly poor. And the staff don't really care if you are there or not. Had to ask to be waited on.

Good coffee. One of my TSA clients took me here to check on me when I left TSA. Hard to talk frankly because it's swarming with consultants.Another TSA client met with me at Bar Louie for lunch to get the scoop as to why I left. It was less densely populated so it was easier to talk, but it closed now.

If you're looking for a hotel full of fees and charges. You found the right place. This hotel has a $30 early check-in fee for anyone no matter what your Marriott status is. I was told there's plenty of rooms available but you need to pay. So the philosophy of the management of this hotel especially the general manager Terrance Duvall is to agitate and irritate the customer the minute they enter your establishment. Nothing about this day will make me happy, You basically left a horrible taste in my mouth from the second that I entered your hotel. I do appreciate the opportunity to sit in your lobby and put reviews all over the internet about your ridiculous charges. Just imagine.. if you actually have hospitable principles and when available work with your customers especially Elite members they might actually want to come back they might want to tell others to stay here.

Great weekend, hotel was within 5 miles from the sights in Washington DC. Staff is very friendly and accommodating, they dont growl down when they have to spend 35 minutes solving doubts on tourists traps and so forth. Besides food was excellent and our room was super clean and convenient. Rain dance shower did magic after 10 hours chasing my frenzy wife all over DC. This MArriott is an awesome Hotel, we recommend it without question.

I walked here from my hotel thinking this would be better than Starbucks but I was sadly disappointed. Customer service is nonexistent. I asked for my drink Slightly sweetened and it was so sweet it could give someone diabetes. I tried to drink it because I hate to complain but I couldn't because it was so sweet. I kindly asked the lady how much sweetener was in it since I asked for it slightly sweetened (plus this drink literally says lightly sweetened on the menu) instead of trying to help she started looking for my receipt ? She walked away and started to remake it while she banged things on the counter as if I made her upset. I even went as far as telling her "I'm sorry I've upset you and thank you for remaking my drink" all she said is "it's ok" I started to walk back to my hotel as I took a sip and guess what?? She put NO sweetner in it ‍ you're better off going to Starbucks

We have stayed at this Renaissance twice prior to flights out of DCA and we experienced excellent service and wonderfult accommodations both times. The rooms are very nice and comfortable, and as often as we stay at Marriott properties, this is the only one, over all the years, that had my room extras waiting for us upon arrival. Sean, who checked us in during our second stay, was so wonderful. I mentioned to him that I couldn’t believe how expensive an Uber was to take us the half mile to the airport before their shuttle began. He took it upon himself to research other options and called us with his findings. I truly appreciated that. He was so welcoming, kind and helpful. We will definitely stay here again when we fly from Reagan next time.
