Really enjoyed this restaurant. We tried their 3 vegan tacos. One with veggies (onion and peppers), one with mushrooms, and one with a vegan chorizo. All were delicious. The side sauces were also really good. One was pretty spicy, but had a nice flavor.

The salsa is a little different than most and quite a nice change of pace. There were quite a few vegetarian entrees and the staff was very friendly. Also, the prices are a little lower than average for the area in which it's located.Vegetarian options: The vegetarian options were good and there were enough to choose from. This is not a vegetarian restaurant, though. It is definitely quite meat-centric.

Some of the best food for its price point in the city. I have eaten at all these places Tex-Mex restaurants in DC area over the years and this place is where I return. The other thing to point out is I never feel slightly sick like I do after many of the other places which means the quality of food and oil is good. The American food stock seems to get less trustworthy. What are people spraying in the food to keep it looking good but leaving you feeling sick after every meal? Not here. Try it and see what I mean!

delicious food and nice presentation. great horchata, agua de jamaica, ceviche, burritos, pupusas, and flautas. the restaurant vibe is very laid back but nice enough to enjoy a dinner at. i could occasionally smell the bathroom from the table and the server seemed a bit lost at times, but she was really sweet and prompt. will definitely be returning!

Walking in I could tell that ordering to ahead was a good choice. It was packed with the Saturday night out crowd, which was mostly women from my observation. I really couldn't understand the server who I paid and took the food to-go. We ordered the jalapeño-poppers appetizer and all I got was a single stuffed jalapeño. Thats okay though, it didn't cost extra, or maybe it did? I didn't get a receipt. The food was very good and a it was a spicy pepper.

Okay pero MexiCali provided the best ambiance for our New Year’s Eve. They allowed walks in! Had no problem getting us great drinks and providing fun juegos pa jugar. My family had a great time. We were able to enjoy the lounge space in the back and the dancing space in the front. DJ was a 10/10 ( to me of ) because of the mix of recent AND throwback early 2000’s tunes. Will definitely be attending next year when I visit home ???? shout out to Piweee y Lewis for taking the best care of us.

Honestly it’s been a ball coming here. The way angel treated me and my boyfriend he was really accepting and charming. The way he kept enticing me was thrilling and dare I say adorable, but ultimately I was with my date. Not only that we are so picky with drinks and the way he shook the drinks with his stubby arms. When the delicious food came out and he dropped it off at the table I was dripping and salivating at the same time. The experience he gave us was breathtaking by the end of it I knew I was going all the way tonight and it’s all because of Angel. With saying that I’ll be a returning costumer.

I’ve been coming here for 2 years now and I’ve always enjoy eating here along with getting a drink. Angel has always taken care of me. Me and my old pals always enjoyed the drinks here. I’m 72 and that man knows how to make an old fashioned. He also took my virginity a while back and I’ve been feeling confident in life thanks to him. Angel is the gem of Mexicali and makes me feel like a pretty boy from the 70’s
