The food was alright, but the service was painfully slow. Regret set in when our pie took a whopping 45 minutes to arrive, and the adjacent bar's smoky atmosphere infiltrated the dining area, leaving us questioning the legality of it despite the claimed ventilation system.
It's definitely my local favorite. I can not say enough about this place. My wife and I had moved to the area 2 years prior. We recognized the building as we traveled to and from Winchester for our selection of restaurants, not realizing this place was a restaurant at first. We finally went in and, wow. Our attentive and accommodating server and excellent food (the pretzel-crusted chicken with Dijon sauce and vegetables was fantastic) made for an enjoyable experience. The only downside is that, despite the "non-smoking" dining room, we left smelling like cigarettes, probably from smokers in the tavern. Improved HVAC design would probably fix that. My solution will be to visit during mild weather and take advantage of the outdoor seating. We will definitely be back!
