We were over in the shopping center for a small car show, and we decided to try Kare Bar for the first time; the space is really nice and cute, and the staff is great. We got the salmon salad, tuna tartare, salmon tartare, and miso glazed eggplant; everything was excellent - very fresh. We loved the dressing on the salmon salad and thought that both of the tartare dishes were seasoned right and weren't too spicy; I would recommend both the tuna tartare and the salmon tarte. I am glad we decided to try it! We will he back again for sure.

Unplanned dinner that turned out to be really yummy. Came in 30 mins before closing and still got seated. ?Had the chicken katsu curry. Beautiful presentation, and they have a condiment tray if you want extra of anything on your food. The interior was beautifully decorated as well. Will definitely come back and try other dishes!!

It's a great place to enjoy a home-cooked-style Japanese meal, especially on a windy day like today. The food at this restaurant was quite different from what we usually get at other Japanese restaurants. It used fewer sauces and spices, yet it was still very tasty and flavorful. I will definitely return to try other items from the menu soon.Parking: Lots of free parking.

Atmosphere: The music is awful and doesn't correlate to the interior décor, style of food, or the clientele of the business. Service: I thought the service was decent for a weeknight and a not-so-crowded restaurant. I would like to point out that our appetizer came at the same time our meal did and that caused some table space frustration. Food: Right off the bat, I thought the green tea (Sencha) was tasteless and a waste of 8 dollars (tea for two). The tea was well presented but not savory. The miso soup, although decent, was not worth the 7 dollars as it was just seasoned broth with a few pieces of tofu. The fan-fried seafood dumplings were very good with or without any soy sauce and the peanut sauce drizzle was very good. Now the rice bowls. We got the Donkatsu Don and the Shrimp Katsu Don. The menu could have been a bit more detailed as they left out a lot of ingredients they put in these bowls and that kind of got me irritated. The bowls are of thick metal, maybe cast iron, but they are so hot and the food is so hot, it will take a long time for the food to cool (at least 10-15 minutes). Having this food arrive hot is much better than being served cold, but it's hot to the point where you can't eat for a while. They should have let the food chill in the kitchen while we were eating our appetizer because having the tea, soups, dumplings, and rice bowls (served in a box) is quite a bit to have on the table at one time. Very cluttered. I thought the Donkatsu Don was good. Not over the top but ok. The pork was cooked well but the bowl was bland and needed sauce. While I was not a fan of the Don sauce, all we had was soy sauce so I had to make due. Our bill was 60 dollars for two but next time, I will not get the tea or the miso soup, and that will cut 15 dollars of the total. In hindsight, the bowls are large enough to share (we both had leftovers). If two people get an appetizer and share a bowl, that will be sufficient for a meal. Will I eat hear again? Yeah, I would. For the most part, I enjoyed the food. I would just order less. Hopefully, they will change the style of music they play.Parking: The parking lot is a place where cars can park while dining. Please note, if you are not authorized to drive a motor vehicle, you should not be drive.

I’ve been to KareBar about four or five times before today. I really liked the food and the atmosphere. Even the customers service was nice, until our most recent and very last visit today. My boyfriend and I decided to have a birthday lunch here. The food was good and it was a bit slow, so it was nice that it wasn’t busy. We finished our food, we paid and I decided to go to the restroom. Once I came out the waitress that I thought was nice confronted me on how much I tipped her. She asked me if her service was bad because the tip was less than such-and such percent. I was shocked because I have never been treated like this at a restaurant before. It was honestly disgusting and very off putting. I tried to explain that I wanted to have a nice lunch, but that not everyone always has the money to tip a certain amount every time. I always try to tip fairly and at least 20%, but sometimes you just don’t have it and you shouldn’t be shamed for wanting to celebrate a birthday, while not having fat pockets. She said that’s fine and we left. We will never be coming back and it’s very disappointing because it was one of our favorite restaurants, but I won’t be bullied because of your own career choices or the slowness of a day. I would’ve tipped more if I could of at the time. She was so upset over a tip, but now she’s caused the place to lose two customers. And we’ll always advise our friends and family to steer clear of this place.
