I honestly do not know what happened here. This used to be a delightfully charming FRENCH restaurant. Now, it seems to be a delightfully charming, woefully under-seasoned ITALIAN restaurant. I've had great meals here. I would like to have a great meal here again. But until this place remembers what it was, what it could be again, what salt is (and how much to use), I'm not holding my breath.

My wife and I stopped in Cafe Frank last night after a movie. We had two small plates and shared an order of mussels. All prepared very well. The frito mixto was perfectly and very lightly fried. The Caesar salad was perfect. We had a young, helpful waitperson who told us the name of the restaurant is pronounced “cafe Frank”and not “cafe Fraunk.” Frank is a stuffed rooster perched above the bar.

The food is excellent and the food service is really slow. We had a 5:15 PM reservation for four people, the restaurant was not crowded, and we barely got out of there in time for a 7 PM show. My recommendation is to go if you have plenty of time and you aren't really hungry. Even bread service took ages.

Food used to be amazing. Now average. French onion soup was small, mushy and bland taste. The salmon entree was a very very basic Recipe that can easily be made at home. Also charging $10 for a small container of french fries is ridiculous. Please beg former chef Jose Britto to return!! His linguini and lobster was incredibly delicious. Will not return.

We’ve had some good experiences in the past, however, the last few times we’ve been there the service and the food has been sub par to say the least. The cocktails were more simple syrup than alcohol. The entree’s were disappointing. We wanted duck but 6pmOn Friday they were cold out of 1/5 entrees they served! We ordered wagyu short rib, which was dry! Given how much fat there is in wagyu it should not have been dry even if it was slow cooked!! When I called today to let them know the owner dismissed me and started mansplaning wagyu beef and connective tissue to me. The bar was also understaffed. The menu recommendation to let the staff know if we aren’t satisfied is merely a suggestion. Do not recommend for people who know what good food tastes like. Also, while the restaurant boasts French food the entrees were polenta with wagyu, bolognese, other pasta dishes and similar continental food (mostly Italian) other than French! Even the bread service was focaccia ?

We were disappointed with our dishes. One plate had overcooked pasta, that bordered on being mush; and the other was really undercooked and slightly hard. The salmon smelled fishy, suggesting that it wasn't fresh.

They made our experience incredibly amazing. We were there for a make-up Valentines and it was jusg stellar. I wish I had gotten our server's name - if the restaurant is reading this, she was a blonde woman - she exemplified incredible service. We were very happy that they had options that were gluten free and could be prepared for someone with celiac disease. The one thing is that to make certain things gluten free they omit certain ingredients (e.g. crackers) and it would be nice to have them replaced with something else.

Perfect bistro experience. Not over the top, high dining, service. The wine pairing excelled and the bustling crowd included several acquaintances and friends all having their own dining experience.

Charge 3% of food cost as "Processing Fee" included in check without explicit prior customer consent is not fair. Customers probably don't dispute it because it's not a big amount and they rather avoid arguing with service personnel, but they likely resent it. And how about customers that pay cash? The bill is presented directly with the fee, before the customer chooses payment form.

One of my new favorite spots. Ambiance, food and service all perfect. Things quiet down a bit after 7pm, but loved the bustle of the happy hour crowd too. Server was lovely and very detail oriented, we will be back, thank you!

Our server Kate was a delight. Friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I noticed a gentleman who appeared to be on top of everything. I asked his name, Jonathan, the owner. He has a beautiful space, delicious food, cozy upbeat atmosphere and professional friendly staff. A new favorite!
