Superb as always, a standard of casual excellence for over 25 years. We had the Halibut with Sweetbreads for an appetizer. Our friends enjoyed the Duck. Always a congenial place to sup with friends before sliding into JPJ for a UVA BB game.

Food was great. Had the halibut, pork chop, and sprouts/spinach side. Drinks and wine great. The space gets 4 star for me. I wish they would upgrade old uncomfortable chairs at tables for 2. They feel unstable and very small - especially for someone tall. Noise level is high, especially when seated next to big tables.

Went to Duners last night with my husband and my mother-in-law! We haven't been a a couple years and it was just fabulous! We had the Shad Rod, Halibut and Rockfish and all three were excellent! Wine/beer choices were wonderfully extensive and the dessert was devind...had the Flourless Chocolate Cake and the Ice Cream Sandwich ......very decadent and delicious! Our waiter (Lon?) was the cherry on the dinner Sundae!! So attentive, cheerful, polite, accomodating and enthusiatic! Made our special dinner even more special! It was also lovely that Hayden came out to say hello! Very, very talented chef!! We can't wait to come back!!

I had the roasted tomato soup. It was marvelous! Never tasted a tomato soup like this one and I recommend it strongly. Who still has sweetbreads on the menu? Duners! Oh my, they were perfectly prepared and the sauce was scrumptious. He started with fried oysters followed by steak. Oysters were yummy. They nailed the steak preparation (med rare) and the sauce was excellent, easy to sop up with the mashed potatoes. The wine list is interesting and the restaurant's pet names for them are clever. Many nice choices in the $12 range per glass. Unfortunately we were stuffed and had no room for dessert, although they looked tempting. Maybe next time.

Good local spot with excellent fish dishes, with the exception of the crab cakes that are heavily battered and deep fried. The wine selections are very good and the service was attentive and cordial.

As always, Duners delivered. Everything, from the bread to the wine and beyond were delicious. The three of us shared oysters as a starter. Two of us had the duck, with perfectly prepared risotto and a lovely sauce, and the third enjoyed the shrimp and grits. None could handle a dessert but we left feeling sated and happy (as always).

Food was excellent but it was so loud I could not hear a word that my dinner companions had to say. Also service was a bit spotty. Wine arrived after appetizers even though it had been ordered when we first sat down.

Our dinner and service both were excellent. The draft beer selection is virtually non-existent, unfortunately. Not sure why that has changed. But even with that, I still love Duner's.

Had a nice dinner here for Valentine's Day. The place looks unassuming from the outside but the atmosphere inside is welcoming and nicely appointed. The food and service were both fantastic, and although it is fairly costly I would definitely recommend it!!

Love this place. Food is delicious and service is great. Sometimes it's a little loud but always worth it.

Duner's is one of my favorite restaurants but Sunday night it lost some of its luster. The wait staff is always outstanding - special kudos to the young men. I consider your bartender tops but our cocktails were sweeter than one would expect a perfect Manhattan. Our guests said that the rockfish and shrimp were fine. Unfortunately, we all found the oysters soggy. My husband and my beef (medium and rare) had no char at all. Was it the chef's night off or were we off? We'll be back but I think it's important for you to know the plusses and minuses from the diner's perspective.

Visited for Valentine's day and the food was amazing! I didn't know what to expect going in, but it was beyond expectations. I would definitely come again!!

Exceptional experience ..! The food was delicious and the server warm and gracious. Delivery was a bit slow, however the restaurant was busy and the server so hospitable that it was inconsequential. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for one of Charlottesville's best..!

The service was very slow with several tables that were seated after us completed before our entree was even served, Shrimp Alfredo was basically runny and bland, Duck was cooked on one side but almost raw on the other end---almost like it was cooked from frozen, On the good side the sweetbread was good and the 3 mushroom soup delicious! I waited for years to dine here, pretty disappointing overall.
