It's a very elegant restaurant, and we had an awesome waiter. The French onion soup was nice, but not great. The broccolini was was very good (the highlight of the meal for me). I had a gingerbeer mocktail that was excellent. My dinner companion asked for medium rare steak, and got rare. Luckily he doesn't mind rare. He was reasonably pleased with his meal I asked for medium, and got bloody the for time, sent it back, got it back still very bloody. It went back a second time and apparently annoyed the chef because it came back burnt, dry and tough. I was only able to eat part of it. I get far better steaks at home and at Texas Roadhouse. The meal was extremely overpriced for the quality of what we got. We were comped for my ginger beer and for one of the $8 non alcoholic raspberry lemonades we got. I would not recommend this place for anything other than interesting drinks and lovely decor.

First time here. Had a hard time finding this place due to the fact they have no sign! Food was absolutely delicious though!

This place was absolutely amazing. The food was some of the best I’ve ever had. The service was too notch. The vibe in the restaurant is awesome. The only downside is it is expensive so make the visit a special one.

Came here day after Valentine's Day. Iv been here before but it was the first tome for my hubs and. He couldn't stop staring at the interior, which is absolutely gorgeous. Our waiter informed us that the location used to be an old bank and they even still have the bank vaults which you can see. The food was amazing!!! My Husband and I both loved our steaks with the peppercorn cognac cream sauce. I had the creme brûlée for dessert and ohh my goodness, Iv serious never tasted anything like that before. There was candied pumpkin sprinklers atop, absolutely scrumptious. We are out of towners but we will definitely be coming back if we visit Charlottesville again.

I moved to C’ville from NYC and Prime 109 is the only restaurant here that is NYC quality. The food, the bar/drinks, the atmosphere, and the service ( Todd as good as any NYC waiter) are first rate. We are lucky they are in C’ville.

I was taken here last year for my birthday and it was one of the best if not the best dining experience ever. From the time we walked in the door until we walked out the door, it was amazing. The steak, the sides, the dessert and drinks were fabulous. Oh, the service was impeccable!!

We had a phenomenal dinner and evening at Prime 109. This restaurant is a confluence of delicious food, a spectacular decor, and inimitable service. This is class restaurant with a very warm atmosphere. It is a true dinning experience, that we would highly recommend.... We thoroughly enjoyed our appetizers: oysters and calamari. Everyone found their entrees mouth watering. The filets could be cut with a fork. Seriously consider ordering some home made french fries, mushrooms, and broccoli. Prime 109 has great leadership; Shelley, one of the owners, adds such a warm touch. Her graceful and thoughtful touch makes Prime 109 such an inviting place. Doug our waiter was the best; extremely nice, intelligent, and very attentive. Do your self a favor and go to Prime 109 and have an inimitable dinner and night. Thanks- Shelley and Doug. After all the talk we were expecting a special evening. It was my birthday and many friends in Charlottesville have raved about Prime 109. This is this old bank building, converted into a vastly tall steak house. The service was good and decorating average. The old building is a fine bank building from the thirties. Ceilings rise to forty feet, with columns and little else to distinguish it. I know the trend is away from white table cloths & warm deep carpets and this restaurant is no exception. It is loud! You can't hear your companions. The service was very good. They do there best to tell you why you should spring for the $65. steak, aged, dried, grass-fed, and free to roam the Charlottesville countryside with a smile. When I asked why it wasn't tender, juicy, or marbled, I was told it was because it was aged, grass-fed and free to roam the Charlottesville countryside. At Costco, I can buy a ribeye that boiled at 550 degrees and allowed to rest for ten minutes before carving, beats their offering hands down. The sides were good. The wine was okay. The deserts average. If you are on an expense account go for it, otherwise cook at home and get out the white tablecloth!

Way over priced, limited menu, mediocre steak. C&O has amazing steak for half the price. If everything is alacarte paying 12$ for a bowl of spinach is over the top. They are going to have to try harder. The building is beautiful and the live music was nice. I expect spectacular for steaks 59 and above.

Disappointing wine selection. Steaks and cocktails are way overpriced for what you get. Definitely overrated. Renovation looks great while you’re gnawing on that meat though. Far better options in Cville.

Beautiful atmosphere, great staff, sides are very good. The steaks a way overpriced. Not melt in your mouth steak that usually comes with the price. There are a few other places in Cville that has better steak and half the price. Go to experience atmosphere and for a drink, then go to AB or OB for the steak.
