Great beer, however my grilled chicken came out clearly burnt and they served it to me anyway. I ate the mashed potatoes and mushrooms which were very good, and by the time they re-made the chicken and it came out on an empty plate. (Sad) Joey the bartender was more interested in talking vs serving beverages as a good bartender would.

Good food and service. We will be back! Nice to have a good place to go on our side of town.

Hidden gem just minutes away from Holiday Inn, the Owners Joan and Son Cameron in the Kitchen make you feel right at home. The Wings are amazing and the Wood Smoked Pizza looked and smelled fabulous. Thank you for a great evening… Looking forward to our next visit. Bill & Donna Canada

We’re in Charlottesville just for the night and wanted to find a restaurant with food that sounded appetizing, but not the same-old that you get everywhere. We found Riverbirch Restaurant on Google and liked what we saw.Thank goodness for GPS because there’s no way I would have found this place - I thought I was driving into a residential area when turning into the driveway.Sign on the door apologizes but due to the difficulty of finding employees, they’re only open for a shorter amount of time. (We suggest calling ahead to check for hours.) Luckily they had just opened when we arrived.Very pleasant server (Caroline M) brought us ice waters and we ordered the Nachos with steak & the Mozzarella sticks. Both delicious! The nachos had corn, black beans, & sliced jalapeño sprinkled throughout along with a big dollop of sour cream and a bowl of diced tomatoes. Plenty of tortilla chips to get that crunch you want!Dinner was two pizzas. One pizza was sausage & mushrooms, the other was 1/2 cheese, 1/2 meat lovers. No leftovers! The crust was thin but cooked well and tasted good. The red sauce HAD to be homemade - delectable! The sausage was slices of sausage and mushrooms were fresh, not canned! Only complaint was the bacon on the meat lovers was a tad burnt- but it got eaten!Sorry I didn’t take photos this time. It really was a pleasant experience. We would definitely return here should we be in Charlottesville in the future.

Very friendly and nice staff. Food was excellent. Great burger, pizza and steak salad.

Can't give a true review of the food. When we arrived, even though there were plenty of seats we were told it would likely be an hour before we got our food due to short staffing in the kitchen. We thought we would go back later but ended up going somewhere else.

Came here with my family for the first time. The menu has a great array of options that should make everybody happy and is reasonably priced as well. The pizzas (outstanding!!!) are the perfect size to split with somebody and the half salads/apps are a generous portion. Our kids have decided that it is their new favorite restaurant in Charlottesville.Bartender (Joey) waited on us and was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and polite.Covered outdoor seating as well…. Highly recommend for families or adults - very good place to eat!

Great service & good food. Very pretty restaurant inside with a decent outdoor option.

The restaurant isn't in an ideal spot where you can drive by and easily see it, but if you're lucky enough to stumble upon it I recommend giving them a chance. Every time I go the food is excellent! They do have a smaller menu, but in my opinion there are plenty of options on it. Quality over quantity here. I love their pizza and their spinach artichoke dip is amazing and you can get with pita bread! It's a great lunch or dinner spot. It reminds me of one those diners that's small but everything they make is good. I'm my experiences here, the staff have always been great. They also have a covered outside dining area. All of the people I've been here with love it as well! They are closed on Mondays.

We just moved to the neighborhood and were in search of our favorite go-to place... THIS IS NOT IT! While this would have been the perfect spot for us as it is SO close to home, our search continues! From the get-go we were not impressed. We were greeted & seated promptly. Handed "menus" printed on a single sheet of white copy paper in a clear page protector... classy! The beer selection was decent, however the updated list was a handwritten note and inserted in the page protector to cover the printed list. We started with a Pretzels and Beer Cheese appetizer (which took forever). Upon the arrival the server set the plate down, when one of the pretzels slid off the plate onto table then down to the floor. Now we were now down to 2 pretzels, that were way overcooked, almost burnt. The beer cheese was semi warm, clumpy and watery. (3rd pretzels reappeared 15 mins later). Next we ordered our entrees. As it was Friday the server touted the Fish Fry, "Fish n' Chips, large pieces of fresh Atlantic Cod" he said. Hubby was excited and all in. HA, NOT SO MUCH! It was more like Gorton's Frozen Fish PIECES with burnt fries! I ordered a simple Cheese Calzone. safe I thought... the dough shell was dry and flavorless and did not look appetizing at all. It was stuffed with ample melted mozzarella, the ricotta cheese was absent until you reached the center of the Calzone only to find it in a glob of COLD wet cheese! This was served with a side of Marinara that was overtaken with Oregano! AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL!!! (BTW, we're from Chicago and we know a thing or two about Italian food). The whole dining experience left a lot to be desired and the food was mediocre at BEST. Priced as you would expect for good C'ville establishment, but certainly not worth what they were selling. If this is their best representation we expect they won't be around long as there are far too many GREAT places available in town. NOT a Do-Over for us!

This was our 1st time here and to be honest I wasn't expecting it to be nearly as good as it was. It took a little bit to get our order placed but the Appetizers and entrees we done very quickly. I was pleasantly surprised at how good everything was. Good amount of food for the cost. Waitress was very nice and the place was very clean.

An eclectic neighborhood restaurant in Pantops that serves traditional American meals that are both well presented, and with ample portions. Appetizers are enormous and could easily substitute for a meal. There are Pizza's from a brick oven, salads, burgers, sandwiches, some entrees in the beef, chicken and fish categories and a typical service will run about $15-35. Service is friendly and efficient. A medium-stocked bar with a monthly featured cocktail (I had this month's Lemoncello Lemonade -- delicious!) is pleasant and efficient. 15 beers/ciders on tap plus they availability of pitchers. Wine is $18-30 for a bottle, or $6-9 for a glass (just get the bottle for crying out loud.) The owner sometimes tends bar!The restaurant is very clean and has booths, tables, the bar and outdoor seating under a large tent. Plenty of parking. We'll definitely be back.

The pizza was good but everything else was disappointing. Out of most bottles of wine. Salad tomato was old and dried, lettuce was bland. We felt completely rushed and couldn't relax. My husband summed it up by saying there's no love here. We seemed to be an inconvenience. Server was nice but seemed inexperienced. Maybe we caught it on a bad night but will not go back.
