From the appetizers to the entrees, rack of lamb I'm talking to you...and the desserts...absolutely delicious. I'm a New Yorker. A Californian. I've eaten in Beverly Hills, Manhattan, I'll even throw in NOLA, the Amber Lantern is one of the best out there. Trust me.

My friends and I waited 2 hours for our appetizers and the server felt it necessary to give us attitude for explaining to her our dissatisfaction. The service was unprofessional and wasted our time. Come with low expectations and hopefully your experience is better than ours.
The service was really slow. The food was amazing!!! We had the crab stuffed shrimp and the rack of lamb with the Aji tuna, and the calamari with the lemon berry cake for

Beautiful place! The best part of the meal for me was the Baked Brie. The risotto was dry and not creamy at all. There was a general lack of flavor with this meal, although the presentation was well done.

Excellent establishment. Everything is on point. The service is exactly what you want after a long work week. It's very out of the way for the majority of the population of Hampton Roads. My wife has been twice and both times she had a tough time getting an Uber when leaving the restaurant. So just be aware of that if you plan on ride sharing. But don't let that deter you from partaking in an excellent dining experience.

Amber Lantern is a hidden gem in Chesapeake. Not only is the food delicious, but the presentation is on point. Service is genuine and welcoming. If it's warm, get an outside table and enjoy the sunset. Always a great experience.Parking: Tons of parking
I've attended this restaurant on multiple occasions and each time the service was excellent, the atmosphere and scenery was great, and the food was amazing.

I eat here on special occasions, but I actually worked here for a short time while in culinary school after retiring from the Navy. I’m going to tell you unapologetically that Chef Carmello is the man and his food is amazing. I’m claiming this as a line cook and culinary school student who had a chance to lift up the hood and take a look at the engine. If you go to Amber Lantern and don’t enjoy your meal and experience, I will pay for your dinner.Wheelchair accessibility: I love this restaurant and love the Chef even more!
This was definitely a 5-star experience. My husband ordered the Ceasar salad. The waitress told him it was big wedges. She didn't exaggerate. The salad alone could have been a meal. I had the Atlantis salad with balsamic dressing. I really enjoyed the salad. For his entree, my husband had the Filet Mignon. It was "fork tender" and juicy; cooked to perfection. I had the Crab stuffed shrimp. They were delicious! It was a good portion. I didn't leave with a doggie bag. The mashed potatoes and vegetables were the perfect side dishes. It was dark when we arrived at the restaurant. I thought the GPS had taken us the wrong way. It is in a somewhat isolated area off of Bainbridge Blvd on the water. I couldn't see the water well because it was dark and there was a glare on the window from the lights. I would love to go again in the daytime. I'm sure the view is beautiful.Vegetarian options: Salad. There may be other options as well.

Went for a birthday dinner and the food was not cooked to order which happened to the people in front and behind us also. Portion size we were told was enough to share but it was literally a spoon full. The best thing was the Caesar salad which still was not a lot. Order white peach sangria at the end and it tasted just like mimosas and all orange juice with alcohol. Definitely not peach. They did take a dinner off but definitely would not recommend unfortunately.
