“My wife, daughter and I needed a "hang out" for a half a day and were pleasantly surprised by Churchville in general and Mountain Mystic Cafe in particular. Delicious coffees, teas, and cookies and engaging conversation. Looking forward to another visit on our next trip from Richmond to the mountains!”
“Excellent food, got the white pizza. The staff was extremely understanding of my very, very energetic small children and let us use the small room with two booths.”
“Little hole in the wall place with big heart.Family owned and operated, made to order food and icecream treats. 3 total visits since moving from the big city Texas. Definitely a new regular spot for us.”
“Gantt was the type of bartender that feels like he already knows you...I appreciated the warm welcome and speedy service!! Best burger I've had in a while hand's down the beef fat itself was delicious and it was cooked perfectly garnished with Xtra fresh tomatoe and lettuce choice crispy bacon and a delicious smoky bacon aioli...cheers to the metal glassware its honestly brilliant. I love this place.”
“We went for lunch with our kids and were instantly greeted by Alejandro, this guy is awesome. He totally sold us on how amazing their food was, suggested with great alliteration what to get and gave us recommendations of what to do around town. We had two to the happy kids plates with cheese burgers, both kids loved them and their little toys. My wife and I shared a Remedy, Ballard Burger and Loaded Fries. Everything was delicious. We will definitely be returning our next time in town.Kid-friendliness: Alejandro instantly engaged with our kids and made great suggestions for their meals.”
“Gloria's is an amazing place with super authentic food and incredible service.I carry fond memories of Salvadoran food, and this was as good as any I've enjoyed in the past. We'll definitely be frequent visitors. We had the pupusas revueltas and fried yuca with chicharón, followed by fried plátanos for dessert. The tamarind juice was so refreshing, and they stock a nice choice of bottled and draft beers.Vegetarian options: Many of the pupusa choices are vegetarian.”
“Cute gelateria with lots of fun flavors. We got the brownie batter flavor and wished we’d tried more. Next time I’d go back for the toffee coffee. They have some seating inside and even a window to order from - just press the bell!Vegetarian options: They have vegan sorbet too”
“I wish I would have taken pictures of the food, but just know it’s delicious! The staff was so friendly. I haven’t met such a friendly bunch in a while. We were supposed to eat an another place, but they were closed for an event. We all said thank goodness or we would have missed out on this place. The carnitas tacos were juicy shredded pieces of pork. The Achiote tacos weren’t dry and the flavors all were fresh. The super nachos are HUGE…like two people huge! The burrito bowl was the perfect size. Their refried beans, guac, and homemade tortillas were all delicious as well. The corn tortillas were the perfect thickness, this didn’t tear and fall apart as you ate. Their chips and homemade salsa were good and fresh too. I received a surprise pork belly taco….still drooling over it. The lady at the register ordered me one to try and it sounded like I was not going to like it, but I was WRONG. The crunchy corn nuts definitely were a yummy treat. The pork belly was perfectly cooked and not a fatty mess. I would definitely eat here again! Don’t be fooled by the small size, they serve up some big flavors!!”
“This bakery is like nothing you have ever seen. The cinnamon twists are longer that a 12 inch diameter plate, and are flavorful and delicious down to the last crumb. I haven't tried their espressos yet, but I BET YOU they are as good, if not better than their own pastrys. I had the apple turnover (? Honestly, I don't remember what it was called) and it was amazing. 10 out of 10. Highly recommend.”
“We go here for dates regularly because we can find healthy options. The prices are reasonable and wines n cheeses are diverse and delicious. They also have a good selection of regional ciders and beers. One suggestion we'd have is to list a gluten free option or ALL the ingredients on the cheese plates because we always forget they come with bread and crackers and have to send it back.”
“Cute little wine bar with friendly staff and a big selection of international wines with some local wines. Our hostess was super knowledgeable and they even have non alcoholic wine you can order by the glass. Nice place to just relax in the afternoon!”
“Wife and I are well-traveled around the world let alone the country. Thai is our our favorite style of food..... I would travel here from my home in NC just for the fish, and drunken noodles!!!!”
“Delicious well prepared food with outstanding service. Fried haddock was perfectly prepared, catfish was spicy but delicious, and my daughter devoured the lobster Mac n cheese. Would recommend to anyone with seafood itch when visiting this charming downtown. And, they do outdoor streets closed dining on weekends. Might be back to visit just to experience that!”
“The food there is awesome the steak and cheese sub was awsomeParking: Pull up to the doorKid-friendliness: They are friendly with the kids they talk to them gave them a juice box”
“We love this place. This is our 3rd or 4th visit. We try to stop every time we are passing through Staunton, several times a year. They have a variety of ciders on tap, which differs from visit to visit. We usually get a flight of 6 so we can try the ones we hadn't had before, in addition to our favorites. The vibe is very cool, with a mix of people of different ages. Lots of seating with people playing cards or board games. This time it was a Saturday evening and there was live music and a food truck outside (no food otherwise except snacky foods like bags of chips). The place was very busy, but the bartenders kept up with the crowd. The servers are very knowledgeable about the ciders they have and were able to describe the flavor of each cider. They also serve mixed drinks using the ciders with other things like rum, Gin, juices, etc. We've had a few of those on previous visits and each one we tried was very delicious. We haven't tried them all yet, but we'll get to them eventually! And for those non-cider fans, they have a cooler with some cans and bottles of beer. They also sell some of their ciders by the bottle, and we've taken some home with us in the past. Can't wait until our next trip to Stanton.Dietary restrictions: All ciders and mixed drinks are gluten free.Parking: Plenty of parking on site and on the street, and also a large public parking lot next doorWheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp to get up to the outdoor deck and into the building”
“Great little restaurant and shop! The menu is awesome, the specials are ‘SPEACIAL’ and there’s a great beer and wine selection. Can’t wait to come again!”
“I spoke with a now retired health inspector who said Aioli had the cleanest kitchen she had ever seen in the state. This place takes pride in its food, service, and cleanliness. None better.”
“First time visiting Kathy's today for breakfast. This is exactly what every diner should be. Friendly staff and superb food! I cannot wait for the next opportunity to visit!”
“We just found this little pastry shop and it is heaven! It's definitely worth checking out if you are in Staunton. The owners are fabulous and their pastries are delicious.”
“Like a step back in time!Drive in car side service or go inside and sit in vintage booths and call in your order with the booth side phone!! Great burgers and sandwiches, don't forget to order a milkshake it is fantastic!!!”
“I called them and described what I wanted for my daughter's baby shower cake. They asked me to email them a photo. I got a pretty fast reply asking me to call them. After about a 5 minute phone call reviewing details, we were all set.Picked up the cake today (120 servings, 3 tier), it was absolutely PERFECT and tasted amazing. I am so impressed with their efficiency and ability. It was an exact duplication of my photo. HIGHLY recommend!!! Their pricing was EXTREMELY reasonable too.”
“Loved the venue. An old flour mill is now a wonderful restaurant. Lots of locals eat here, not just for tourists. The neal starts with white, wheat, pumpernickel loaf served with fancy butter. We had an apple cinnamon butter..fantastic! We had the ribs and they are 'fall off the bone' tender. Very saucy with a tomato based and tangy sauce. We were back the next night for Caesar salads and an oversized prime rib sandwich. Both were excellent.”
“Such a nice place to grab a morning coffee and a baked treat. I’d love to return in the warmer months. They offer abundant outdoor seating. My cappuccino with oat milk was really nice, smooth, well prepared. Alongside a slice of tasty lemon poppyseed cake, I was well supplied. The star of the show was the young women staffing the store that day. So cheerful, friendly, attentive, patient.Dietary restrictions: Milk alternatives, Vegetarians and the gluten free can find optionsParking: A large lot in front”
“This place is a gem in Staunton! The owner is so nice and personable. The food is SOOOOO good and affordable. My husband and I went today and they were very accommodating to some dietary needs, while also just being so kind!100/10 recommended this place!”
“In visiting family here in my hometown. We decided to keep it local and support our locals. Depot was the choice. Everything from drinks at the bar to the departure was absolutely fantastic. Thank you!”
“They have a decent variety of breakfast food. They could benefit from changing what they offer for breakfast as it is the same every day. The staff are always kind and helpful. Our glasses are always full, and the table never has a chance to collect dirty plates. We visit almost every weekend.”
“We saw Banana Pudding Milkshake on the sign and who could resist? It was so delicious, thick, creamy, and even had little crunchies of vanilla wafers. Their straws are extra large which makes drinking them alot easier. We drank them sitting in the car on this beautiful day and saw several friends pull in. Staunton is a great place to live that still has that hometown feeling where you can get some ice cream and chat with friends.”
“Vegetarian options: Most of the dishes did have a meat component, but there were some vegetarian options. I had the fettuccine and it was very good!Parking: After 5:00 on weekdays the nearby parking lot and street parking are free, otherwise they are metered in the parking lot and limited to 2 hours on the street.”
“North Ridge Coffee and Cafe catered an event for me/us. The service was wonderful and the brunch /appetizers were amazing! Thank you for helping to make the event amazing!”

“At a friends party, heard about a new pizza place that recently opened up in Churchville, Va and had rave reviews from all my friends. We just had our 3rd delivery and gotta say… Think we found a favorite place to get pizza & subs! The delivery is fast and friendly. Highly recommend!!”
