“I love it when an owner of a small business pays great attention to every complaint, feedback or concern conveyed by a customer.I used to live within walking distance to this place. I loved the atmosphere, the quality of coffee and baked goods and the general vibe of the shop.One time while I was placing an order at the cashier, I noticed the lady taking my order was treating me poorly and rolling her eyes when I changed my preference for a breakfast choice and finally threw the receipt on the counter for me to pick up. I understand people have bad days, but you can't be rude if working in the front-facing part of a popular coffee shop. I went back to my table in dismay, when I noticed that the barista by the coffee machine acted like she is the manager giving orders to the others on how to go about running their stations. So, I approached her and asked if she is indeed the manager, and she said she is actually the owner. I conveyed my complaint to her without pointing fingers and she immediately apologized and offered me a free pastry. She promised to improve the training and make sure no other customer gets this poor treatment.I RESPECT excellent customer service. Kudos to this place.“
“Gathering Grounds has some nice coffee. I would personally recommend their hot coffee drinks, because whatever milk for the latte has a nice steaminess to it, hence the latte. The iced coffees are also pretty good, but I personally prefer the hot coffees more. The chocolate croissant is pretty good, and tastes like it just came out of the oven. I also like the ginger tea from here. If I had a suggestion, however, it would be to offer more options for sandwiches or wraps the way Starbucks does. Maybe some turkey bacon, or chicken.Servers are nice, but I do wish that they had more seating as the place can get easily cramped, but when they are available, I really enjoy the lounge chairs.“
“Got the bulgogi bowl, which had that yummy crispiness but I wish there was more radish! I also had the cozy health smoothie, which was delicious and thick so definitely worth 7$! Service was ok and I felt a little unwelcome although I went around 1pm and it wasn't super crowded. But overall, super cute place!“
“I discovered Fifty West Cafe due to Yelp! Fifty West Cafe is located in the ground floor of an office building. You can enter the cafe directly through a door from the outside - or you enter the building main entrance, enter the lobby, make a right - and follow the hallway to the end... I stopped in this morning for breakfast. I ordered the Deluxe Avocado Burrito. You get to choose a meat for the burrito - I requested both bacon and sausage - they were happy to accommodate! And a bottle of cold water. I paid with Apple Pay. The food came up quickly - within 7 minutes or so. I opted to eat in. There are a small number of tables to eat in - perhaps a dozen or so tables. There are also 3 tables outside on the sidewalk - close to the cafe. Service was good. As I left, all of the staff yelled out to me - thanking me for coming! #FiftyWestCafe“
“Refreshing and a great sweet treat while still feeling healthy I ordered the nutty acai and was surprised by how much I enjoyed this. The acai is a nice tart balance to the sweet nutella, and the granola and coconut add great texture to every bite as well. Fresh strawberries and banana top this bowl off to make it delicious! A very sweet woman working up front as well, it felt comfortable in there. I know the price is a bit steep for an acai bowl, however, I can see myself being full after eating this bowl (I got a medium) and I wouldn't go out of my way to buy all these ingredients and toppings to make it myself, so get yourself a treat and support local :)“
“Delicious cortado!! There are a few things in this world. I love more than a FRESH Cortadito when I'm in Florida and when I'm in Virginia Culotta shop, definitely scratch that itch. The store is small but very colorful and quaint. Many mugs and merch available for purchase.Many unique options and cocktails! Great addition to the Bloomies in mosaic. The perfect pick me up to keep u shopping and caffeinated. It was nice to see the options they had for different types of dairy or customization. For dietary needs. The lovely lady who rang me up at the register gave gave me me great advice on how to make my latte, sweet but not overly sweet and still authentic with plenty of flavor.I will certainly return for a signature late with a Latin twist!“
“GREAT little deli tucked back in a business park. You probably would never even know it existed if you didn't work back there.They have all the typical deli offerings that any normal deli would have plus during the weekdays at lunch they have a buffet which works really well if you want a variety. I've only come here once during the lunch rush when it was open but everything that I had was pretty good (lasagna, vegetables, assorted other things). The spicy pork that they have is off the charts good. The buffet is what really sets this place apart from a typical deli which is neat. Their steak and cheese is also awesome.I've had many sandwiches of theirs and they are great, fresh bread, meat and veggies. They aren't stingy with the meat and the bread they use is good.It is very clean inside, and the ladies who work there are very friendly. I once came in with my girlfriend and all we wanted is some drinks and she made an exception on the $5 minimum credit purchase because we didn't have cash.TWO YEARS LATER: Still delicious, still affordable, still clean, and the owners are still super friendly. I love this place, been eating here for probably 20 years now!!!“
“This is my favorite place to get lunch during the week. The staff is beyond friendly and the food is always delicious and affordable. I have tried their burgers, Sandwiches, and subs and I have yet to be disappointed in something. My go-to meal is the Chicken steak and cheese combo.. so good! If this place was open on the weekends I would eat here as well.“
