“Was in the neighborhood running a not-so-fun errand and thought I deserved a treat afterward. I grabbed a hot matcha latte with oat milk to go and WOW was it delicious! Unsweetened, completely smooth, perfectly balanced flavor. I didn't try the soft serve or the delicious-looking shortbread bites *this time* but I'm already planning to return next time I am in Centreville. Seems like a nice place to sit and work or catch up with a friend. Many were there with laptops or chatting with one or two others. Very clean, minimalistic vibe inside but in a warm way. Also seems to be kid-friendly. I will return -- on that note, I wish that my neighborhood in the Union Market area of NE DC had something like this matcha tea house. “I went to the Tyson's location first a few months ago and now I'm actually at a physical store to try this place out too. Like the other location, this place specializes in Matcha. Matcha drinks, desserts, ice cream, sweets... you name it. Open entering, there are open tables on the side next to the counter where you order, a nice cute sofa section with some spots to sit at the window, and a wall of wooden tags with lots of things written on each and every one of them. There's more tables in the back for additional seating but I didn't venture that far to sit down. I decided to stop by and try something much more than the Matcha Ice Cream cone I got at the other location. So I went with the Maiko Special. It's a nice parfait with interesting toppings. Matcha and Vanilla ice cream mixed along with Matcha Chiffron, Chestnuts, and Shiratama Mochi! Overall, the ice cream mix was very satisfying, like a perfect blend of not too sweet but just right enough. The shiratama mochi was chewy but it didn't have much flavor. It's interesting texture wise but I paired it with ice cream and it was alot edible to eat. The matcha chiffron? It's a pretty good sponge cake and that when paired with everything else added an extra layer of sweet to it that the cake needed. I thought this was amazing, and I'll probably get it again. This is definitely the better location versus the one at Tysons where it's a small stand. I hope I can come back to try more of the Matcha sweets!“
“Found this place totally by accident, but YAY! It is so hard to find places to eat that use fresh, healthy ingredients - and taste terrific! Tried several different items so far and every one has been delicious. Plus you can get low-carb, or extra protein, so many great things to choose from. We stopped in to eat at the cafe and bought some frozen meals to try - my boyfriend even did a meal plan order. This place cooks food the way I would make it at home and the prices are super reasonable! Oh and well, the buckeyes are to die for : ) Highly, highly recommend trying it out.“
“After a long, lackluster day of a birthday—I went to Lulu cafe. And it was the best way possible to conclude my birthday last night. The vibe was really chill and energetic at the same time. The staff as well as the customers just made it a wonderful place to celebrate with my friends. The karaoke rooms had great sound quality and everything about it was designed for a good time. I will definitely be back. Everyone was dancing and getting hyped, even if they were just sitting down and drinking. It was like being on an episode of Adventure Time. “My fiance saw this place on an IG reel so she really wanted to come try it out.The service was incredibly friendly and fast.The food is well priced and super tasty. I highly recommend the panang curry and the drunken noodles(these are spicy ?).The dessert drinks are the star of the menu. I could come back dozens of times and try something new. I got the Thai iced coffee and loved it. My fiance got the creme brulee matcha latte and it was super creamy and smooth.We will 100% be back!“

“I love it when an owner of a small business pays great attention to every complaint, feedback or concern conveyed by a customer.I used to live within walking distance to this place. I loved the atmosphere, the quality of coffee and baked goods and the general vibe of the shop.One time while I was placing an order at the cashier, I noticed the lady taking my order was treating me poorly and rolling her eyes when I changed my preference for a breakfast choice and finally threw the receipt on the counter for me to pick up. I understand people have bad days, but you can't be rude if working in the front-facing part of a popular coffee shop. I went back to my table in dismay, when I noticed that the barista by the coffee machine acted like she is the manager giving orders to the others on how to go about running their stations. So, I approached her and asked if she is indeed the manager, and she said she is actually the owner. I conveyed my complaint to her without pointing fingers and she immediately apologized and offered me a free pastry. She promised to improve the training and make sure no other customer gets this poor treatment.I RESPECT excellent customer service. Kudos to this place.“
“I have been to this location for dessert back when it was a Gelato spot, a crepe spot, etc. Once I found out it changed, I knew I had to try it! My friend and I were looking at the menu weeks in advance of our visit to see what we wanted to order. We knew in our hearts and belly that we needed the pistachio cake. Once we arrived (after eating a large meal at the Ethiopian restaurant), our eyes were bigger than our stomachs....yea that's a real thing when you're in a bakery!!! We were feeling a little nutty and ordered the following items: -Nuts about you (pistachio, hazelnut latté) -Almond succés $8.20 -Almond croissant $5.35 -Pistachio cake $6.90 They were kind enough to split the latte into 2 cups for us and it was just AMAZING. I was a little confused about the almond succés flavor/texture, but my friend disliked it. The almond croissant was good. the Pistachio cake just deserves its own moment and I would highly recommend it!!“

“Gathering Grounds has some nice coffee. I would personally recommend their hot coffee drinks, because whatever milk for the latte has a nice steaminess to it, hence the latte. The iced coffees are also pretty good, but I personally prefer the hot coffees more. The chocolate croissant is pretty good, and tastes like it just came out of the oven. I also like the ginger tea from here. If I had a suggestion, however, it would be to offer more options for sandwiches or wraps the way Starbucks does. Maybe some turkey bacon, or chicken.Servers are nice, but I do wish that they had more seating as the place can get easily cramped, but when they are available, I really enjoy the lounge chairs.“

You can enter the cafe directly through a door from the outside - or you enter the building main entrance, enter the lobby, make a right - and follow the hallway to the end... I stopped in this morning for breakfast. I ordered the Deluxe Avocado Burrito. You get to choose a meat for the burrito - I requested both bacon and sausage - they were happy to accommodate! And a bottle of cold water. I paid with Apple Pay. The food came up quickly - within 7 minutes or so. I opted to eat in. There are a small number of tables to eat in - perhaps a dozen or so tables. There are also 3 tables outside on the sidewalk - close to the cafe. Service was good. As I left, all of the staff yelled out to me - thanking me for coming! #FiftyWestCafe“
“I've only been here once but it was such a wonderful experience. It was my first outing with a girlfriend and my little one and the staff really made us feel welcome and taken care of. Here and there, aside from our server they were checking on me and the little one, if she was ok or needed anything. I found that very kind and helped w/ my nervousness for taking care of little one during a day date in a restaurant.This is an uber late review. I was here during the holidays and the decorations were really cute and festive. Our server was Laila and she was very sweet and friendly. The food was great as well. I had the pancakes and my friend had the el presidente burrito w/ homemade salsa, both were awesome and homemade salsa stood out enough that my friend ordered some to go :D It's a great place to go that's family friendly, great food, and wonderful service.“

The acai is a nice tart balance to the sweet nutella, and the granola and coconut add great texture to every bite as well. Fresh strawberries and banana top this bowl off to make it delicious! A very sweet woman working up front as well, it felt comfortable in there. I know the price is a bit steep for an acai bowl, however, I can see myself being full after eating this bowl (I got a medium) and I wouldn't go out of my way to buy all these ingredients and toppings to make it myself, so get yourself a treat and support local :)“

“Nice little cafe tucked away in the corner of an office building. The entrance isn't as direct as you'd think: you have to go through the lobby and follow a sign down a narrow hallway. Once inside though you're met by kind & hard-working staff. Having been here a handful of times before writing this review, my go-to is usually a roast beef sandwich with no tomatoes. So long as you don't overcomplicate things they are generally more than willing to accommodate any customizations. I wouldn't go as far as to say this is hands down the best roast beef sandwich I've ever had but the notion that actual care was put into the preparation of your food somehow just makes it taste a little bit better. For the price and convenient location I certainly see myself coming back here in a pinch.“
“I've been to Cosmos Cafe a couple of times now. Cosmos Cafe IS NOT at the Reston Metro Station - regardless of what a previous reviewer claims. It is in the general area - but according to Google maps - the Reston Metro Station is about 0.4 miles (10 minute walk) from Cosmos Cafe. Cosmos Cafe is behind a gate in an office building complex - but there is free parking just outside the gate (I've parked in the free parking outside the gate every time I've visited Cosmos Cafe - it's about less than a one minute walk to Cosmos Cafe from the parking just outside the gate).Cosmos Cafe stops serving breakfast at 11:00 am - and this is stated on their menu on the wall behind the register.I've had their Cold Brew, as well as their Breakfast Burrito (Scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage, and cheese). You can tell they are proud of what they are providing and the customer service is excellent as they cater to your needs and are patient with explanations of the menu w/ recommendations. The lasagna was a big hit, the jackfruit bbq sandwich was tasty served with asain potatoes and a salad. All of the portions were a good size. There are only 2 to 3 mnoenu items without tofu. They also serve plenty of healthy muffins and cookies. Pizza can be ordered in advance on select days, which I haven't tried yet. A few people like to add their own hot sauce or pinch of salt but I found my food tasty as is. If this were a local establishment, I would be a regular customer. This is the type of venue I enjoy supporting and seek for healthier eating. The restaurant is cute, neat and clean. They were nice and served us outside at the bench since it was a nice day.“
