“My first time trying Afghan food and it did not disappoint. My favorite item of the night were the pumpkin dumplings. We had lamb with cilantro and lamb with okra. Everything on the menu you could tell was made fresh and will great ingredients. The lamb was tender and flavorful. We also finished dinner with cardamom ice cream which was absolutely delicious. The staff were super friendly and attentive. The inside of the restaurant was beautiful, definitely on the nicer side as far as dress goes. Highly recommend.Dietary restrictions: Per their website all menu items are halalParking: Located beneath the restaurant“
“The Bulgogi, spicy pork, al pastor and carne asada tacos were the best. The chorizo tacos were good, and so were the Gal bee. The carnitas and pork belly lacked flavor but the meat was cooked well. The complimentary chips and salsa was really good! The music was interesting. It was a mix of some slow covered R&B and some modern Mexican music. They kept switching the songs, which was kinda odd. Decent server, not above and beyond but not below average. I’d recommend this place to my friends.“
“I like that the menu rotates, this keeps things fun and fresh. The venue itself is pretty small, but cozy. The restaurant has a high class atmosphere with big plates, small serving sizes, and artful topping displays. The drinks took a while to come out, but the food arrived quickly, especially given the size of our party. I enjoyed the Cosmo and Wanda cocktail. The thyme syrup is a unique addition. My scallops and halibut were both cooked perfectly! They did a better job than many seafood restaurants in this respect. The sunchoke basil puree was delicious on the scallops, they were some of the best that I've ever had. But the fish needed to be seasoned, it was too bland. I saw other reviews mentioning delicious bread. We were not offered any, but this would have helped add to the meal. Bread or more substantial sides (instead of the toppings) are definitely needed, since the portions are on the smaller side. The carrot cake was pretty sweet, but a good way to end the meal. I loved the citrus crumble and the frosting. Next time I want to try one of the more exotic menu items.“
“I visited recently with a friend and we both loved it. We didn't drink much so I can't comment on the beverage experience, but the food, service and environment were great. The live music was fantastic too - not too loud, not too soft. We were able to enjoy it while having a comfortable conversation and our ears weren't ringing when we left. We shared a couple plates, so I got to sample several items and I enjoyed everything I ate. Some other reviews mentioned price concerns. While I agree it's expensive, everything's getting more expensive in this economy and the portion sizes are on the larger side (excluding something like a steak, where the size is known). Taxes, regulations, policies are driving cost up for everyone and I think their pricing is reasonable for the quality, quantity, service and environment they're offering. Thank you Bourbon Boulevard for a great night. I'm looking forward to coming back!“
“This is the best whiskey bar in Virginia that I have experienced. The service is excellent, the selection is vast, the ambience is homely and comforting. (For interesting travel and cooking videos please visit cuisineQuest on YouTube, cheers!)“
