Server was unable to answer question about ingredients in something that I ordered. After i had tasted it I suspected it may have contained a spice to which I am allergic. Overall food was mediocre but large servings.

This place has been on my list of places for 15 years or more. I had the opportunity to visit this amazing place today and I will tell you it didn't disappoint AT ALL. The atmosphere was great as we visited on st. Patrick's day brunch. The service was top tier. We had a large party and they brought out family style sides and I mean all the sides. And they were truly endless as we were giving to go sides as many of whatever we wanted. The FOOD. When I say I have never tasted the most perfect seasoned food in my life. Needed nothing. Everything was seasoned and flavourful. If you like savory food this place is it. Not for a sweet tooth person. I had the marinated roast beer. And sheaperds pie. And man. Wonderful. The desserts are the downfall but who cares. The only regret I have is not visiting this place sooner. I will be taking the wife again soon. As it's not really a place for picky eating children or adults. You will not be disappointed.

Gluten free menu with a lot of options that you wouldn’t normally get. Not many drink options, could use a cider on tap. Prices are steep but if you’re gluten free and love German food it’s worth it!

I hate to write a bad review, but the food was disappointing. Their online menu says thay have gluten free snitzel. What you get is an unbreaded piece of veal. That's not really snitzel. If that's what you're going to offer as the gluten free option it might be worth mentioning that it's unbreaded. Disappointing, because there are gluten free breadcrumbs that can be used as an alternative. I also expected the cucumber dill salad to be all cucumber. It was iceberg with some cucumbers and dill dressing. The potato dumplings weren't even as good as the box mixes you can buy. My hankering for Germen food was left unsatisfied :(

Be aware that different people make German food differently. In the German food made here, *lots* of vinegar and sugar show up unexpectedly in lots of their sauces and dishes — much more than we like. I’d compare the level of sweet and sour to that in party meatball appetizers or baked beans. Many (or most?) of their sauces were sweet. As was the sauerkraut. As was their creamy white salad dressing — sweeter than we’ve ever had it. It reminded me of sweet pickles in a sweet buttermilk ranch. We prefer German food that’s more savory and creamy than sweet and sour. There’s another German restaurant in town that makes buttery, creamy food we always LOVE.We all left disappointed with most of our meal. I ended up taking everyone else’s food home. I hate saying that, because I think they’re good cooks here, the portions are huge, and this restaurant gets lots of positive reviews. Is it maybe our personal taste? If the sweet and sour worries you, you could ask them which of their foods aren’t sweet and sour (including the appetizers, salads — everything). Our favorite dishes were the ones that weren’t sweet and sour. The pork shank is really good and seems to be what they recommend to everyone. The sauce is less sweet and sour. And the spaetzle, potato pancakes and potato dumplings were all great. Their steak in peppercorn sauce was amazing when we last had it many years ago.The “bread rolls” they brought us at the start were really soft, moist, fresh pretzels, the best I’ve had (and I don’t like pretzels). We didn’t care for the sausage sampler appetizer (FYI there’s veal in one sausage). The chicken schnitzel wasn’t bad when it was flavored with a sauce, but we’ve had others we love more. The chicken didn’t seem pounded flat or fried, like schnitzel is supposed to be. I think it was baked, so it reminded me of shake and bake, or chicken cordon bleu without the stuffing. The Black Forest cake we found dry and not super flavorful. Which is probably authentic, but. The German chocolate cake was better, but very sweet and gooey, I think from sweetened condensed milk. I might avoid the desserts to be safe.

We had a party of 13. Jamie and Sid made us feel we were the only table. We were in the private room. We had total control of temp and the music. They did not auction our food she knew everything ask for. Everyone of the staff worked as one. We will come back again and again.
