When I walked in his place I had to go through a dark room to the front door. Often wondering if the place was even open I was then lead into the dining room area. Where I had multiple servers. And it had no idea who my actual server was it was also decent on the food however seeing bus trays all over the place on carts throughout the dining room instead of being taken to the kitchen was kind of disturbing. My server was actually amazing but I don't know how this place survives.

I've taken my family here to eat for about 5 years now.i wasn't happy about the quality of the food.Most concerning is the fact that all but one high chair had the proper restraints to hold a child safely.The girls showed me their tortilla bowls were too burnt to eat.This used to be a favorite spot to eat when eating on the go.im giving them one more shot to redeem themselves.

UPDATE 2023: So I've lived in Lebanon VA for about eight years now, and El Campesino has went from the WORST Mexican restaurant I've visited to a much better local option. There have been good changes here, from changes of staff to remodeling the restaurant, and the food is actually very good, with a typical variety of Mexican regional dishes. I previously would not have recommended this restaurant back in 2015, but as of 2023 I visit here twi e a week and enjoy it.

By far the worst Mexican food I’ve ever seen. The chicken looked so slimy I couldn’t eat it. The vegetables were turning brown and rotting. Asked for water and got something brown with stuff floating in my glass. Ruined appetite, nothing on my plate was touched and was still charged full price. The owner of the restaurant didn’t seem to care as he spent the entire time walking around the store on the phone. I will never be returning. Worst service and food I’ve ever seen.

People of Lebanon and visitors, ease your mind and eat elsewhere.Utterly disappointed ?This had been a very long anticipation for me to eat at this establishment. The waitress was fabulously kind and very patient. She took the order and the food arrived pretty quickly. The lighting is rather odd. It is very bright in the center and very dark at each booth. The watered down soap in the bathroom didn't sit well with me, though I let it go. Then, the food was just contents to put in my stomach; mostly over cooked rice, under done veggies, and the seasoning on the chicken was not mixed in well, so I feel the texture of the seasoning in burst. A bite or two tasted like dishwater. Runny thin cheese dip that never ever thicked like regular dip wasn't great either. I like to give feedback so people may try to do a little better. The dude at the cash register could care less. He basically shrugged and smirked when I mentioned the cheese dip. He even said something similar to, "We are the only one soooo...." Please, trust yourself to eat somewhere else.

This used to be a very good Mexican Restaurant. Sadly, a few months ago, something changed and our last two visits were not good. That’s sad since they have recently totally remodeled and its looks much better, but the food quality is now very poor and inconsistent. Service is okay but most servers barely speak english, if at all.
