I ordered the create your own, 2 base mix with banana/pitaya, and added almonds, strawberry and granola. My husband ordered the #5 oatmeal. We both enjoyed our bowls and definitely recommend as a healthier alternative to other sweet shops or fast food options.
Service was great, the cashier offered to answer questions about the ingredients etc. The shoppe was clean and well decorated. Parking is no problem, as it's a storefront located at our local mall.”

“Thanksgiving this year (2025) was a different experience for us. Our usual Thanksgiving is a 15+ lb turkey that I spatchcock for faster roasting. Daughters bring the side dishes and our family get together is noisy, fun, and grateful for family ties.

This year, we decided to order the Thanksgiving family meal pack from County Smoak due to time constraints. Of course, the main part of the package meal was smoked turkey breast. I generally like the dark turkey meat but went along with the meal package. WOW! The smoked turkey breast, sliced neatly WAS OUTSTANDING! i couldn't believe how it was so flavorful, tender and moist. The side dishes that came with the meal package was perfect.

This package may become our go to Thanksgiving dinner from this point forward.”

“January 31, 2026 - When traveling and you’re looking for good pizza . . . stop and try “ Mellow Mushroom’s” pizza! 🍕

Our first time stop ( Lynchburg, VA) at one of the 160 locations of Mellow Mushroom . . . 🍄 This organization started in Atlanta , GA back in 1974! Over 50 years later, expanded in 17 states east of the Mississippi River!

Wasn’t crowded, the decor caught my eye! Maybe folks know of “ the healing properties” of magic mushrooms? ( wink 😉) Looks like a fun place, good size bar, several strategically placed TVs around the restaurant, for those who like to catch their favorite sports team in action! 😃👍

Our server, Wendy, handed us several colorful menus . . . convinced us of the freshness of a Greek style salad ! I was impressed with the beer selections ! I asked Wendy if the bar tender could fashion a “ black & tan” ? No problem!

After enjoying our Greek salad, Wendy asked if we liked to order an entree? We prefer a relaxed dining routine. . . sometimes when placing a salad & pizza order both items arrive at the same time! So we place our pizza order after finishing our salad. . . gives us time to talk politics & religion😳 , and our Grandkids ! 👍👍

Our pepperoni pizza , half with onions arrived 10 or 12 minutes later ! Pizza enthusiasts will immediately notice the style of pizza 🍕 to be a combination of style between a thin Neopolitan pizza & thicker crust pizza. I liked the fresh chewy dough, and extra cheese ! The sauce could use a bit more zesty seasonings , hey that’s just me. Overall a very good pizza , thank you! 🙏

“I have been seeing often on their Facebook page that they offer Brunswick Stew and as much as my wife and I love a good Brunswick Stew, we decided to get 2 quarts for dinner tonight and needless to say we were not disappointed not one bit, in fact this was probably some of the best Stew that we've had.

It's made in house, it's very thick (just as Brunswick Stew should be), they use quality ingredients and it's definitely unique compared to the stew you get at your local fundraiser or fall festival and I mean that in a very good way.

I'm not sure if this is a daily menu item but they do advertise on their Facebook page when they have it so if you haven't tried this delicious stew yet then you are are missing out. Grab a quart or two it's worth every penny.

My advice to whomever make the Stew! Don't change the recipe, keep it the same and especially when in season, keep it coming! This was our first time trying their Stew and trying Blue Ridge BBQ in general and Lord willing it won't be our last.”

Scooped ice cream and cones and check out their website menu because there are funnel cakes and churros covered with a variety of toppings. The snacks are incredibly different. There was ramen noodles stuffed, and walking tacos. Fruit cups with tajin and a bunch a adventure. Check it out. Prices were pretty on point with other ice cream shops but a lot more to choose from. I had a Homemade fresh popsicle that was filled with beautiful strawberries. My son had the chamoy mango popsicle and my husband had the keylime ice cream. All delicious.”

“I was exploring Lynchburg over the weekend and stumbled upon Troublemaker Coffee, tucked right into the heart of a charming local toy and book store. Walking into what felt like a beloved community institution and finding serious third wave coffee inside was one of those delightful surprises that make travel worthwhile.

I ordered an oat latte and watched the barista work a gorgeous La Marzocco machine with the kind of confidence that comes from real skill. You can always tell when someone knows their equipment, and this crew clearly does. The espresso pulled beautifully: rich, balanced, with that syrupy consistency that signals fresh beans and precise extraction. They use Oatly, which is hands down the best oat milk for coffee. It steams to that perfect microfoam consistency and has the richness to stand up to good espresso without overwhelming it. The latte art was almost too pretty to disturb.

The result? Absolutely delicious. Smooth and creamy, with the espresso cutting through just enough to remind you this is coffee, not a milkshake. It’s that ideal balance that’s surprisingly hard to find, even in cities with competitive coffee scenes.

But what really won me over was the atmosphere itself. Surrounded by books and toys, with the gentle ambient sounds of a well loved local shop, Troublemaker offers something increasingly rare: a genuine third place where you can settle in, read, and just breathe for a while. The servers were fantastic, warm and attentive without hovering, checking in at exactly the right moments.

I was also glad to see they sell Slowpoke sourdough loaves. Clearly they know quality when they see it.
