It is a small Italian eatery with very limited seating. The atmosphere is okay if you are dining in. However, we took our meals to go since our 10 min wait turned into 25 mins. We purchased 3 entrées and a salad totaling over $100. When we got home, we were disappointed in the packaging and portion size. The portions we brought home did not resemble the portions served in the restaurant. It felt like a batch of kids' meals. The packaging came in 6 separate TV dinner trays because the proteins were packaged separately from the pasta. The packaging was a vacuum sealed sheet of plastic. This was not pleasant to open since pieces of it tore and landed in our food as we attempted to peel the plastic off. Parents, be sure to open this for your kids. You do not want your kids to accidentally mix pieces of plastic sheets into their food.My family said their meal tasted fine. I can't tell you how my meal went because I was truly upset with the portions and packaging and just tossed it in the garbage. To the owners: I highly recommend doing away with the vacuum seal and investing in actual lids that make it easy to pop on and off.For future customers: I recommend only eating at the restaurant. The takeout service is not worth the disappointment. To be fair, I believe our experience would have been a lot more pleasant had we just ate at the restaurant.

Casual dining heaven...what a find! This cozy spot is close to Clemyjontri playground (my nice and nephew love) ticked all the boxes for a laid-back dinner. Despite the hustle and bustle, the staff managed to seat us promptly, and their friendly demeanor added to the inviting atmosphere. Now, let's talk about the food - simply delicious! The pasta selection was impressive, and the build-your-own-pasta option was a hit with our group. And for those craving something classic, the chicken parm didn't disappoint. I was pleasantly surprised by the availability of Peroni 0.0 - a perfect choice for a non-alcoholic drinker (like myself that evening). In summary, if you're in the area and craving some comfort food in a relaxed setting, this spot is a must-visit. We'll definitely be returning for more pasta perfection. And as always, go Caps! #bubblytip: Great spot to go with children

Quaint family establishment. Not too much indoor seating but plenty of outdoor seating under a tent. The staff is super friendly and welcoming! They're very attentive and helpful with explaining their menu. You can see their fresh homemade pasta on display at the counter!! We got complimentary foccacia with olive oil. Not too bad, but definitely more dense than I like and it was cold... We ordered the Butternut Squash Round Ravioli in Brown Butter Sauce and made a la carte pasta with Spinach Radiatore and Puttanesca (Spicy Tomato Sauce, Anchovies, Olives, Capers, Garlic). The fresh pastas were definitely noticeable and delicious! The sauces were all just ok. Just needed more flavor... we had to add some salt and pepper. I would come here to buy fresh pasta to take home

This is absolutely the best authentic Italian restaurant in Northern Virginia. There is another "best" place that is Italian but that is a pizzeria, so it needs to be ranked in the pizzeria category rather. Dal Grano is a cozy modern Italian eatery offering a really nice menu and they also always have some specials to enhance already delightful choices in the appetizers, soups, salads, main dishes, and desserts. Each dish is so simple yet creative and prepared fresh and just delicious. My family has eaten here maybe 20 times over the years. They make fresh pasta from dough all in house and they have every type. You choose the pasta you want and then the sauce with ingredients for your pasta. I love the seafood sauce there and the Bolognese, both I have with the bucatini pasta. Of course, it isn't offering only pasta. There are also some other Italian dishes including meat dishes. The restaurant staff are always the same friendly folks, and they, including the owner who is always there, really take care of each table with such welcoming ways like you are family invited to their house. Whenever you miss Italy, you can come here and get a small slice of Italy because of the feel and the food. Lastly, let me not forget, they also make delicious in-house gelato in different flavors that is a choice on the dessert menu.

We eat our rarely, but when we do Dal Grano is always the top choice. Delicious pasta and desserts. Wait staff is attentive and accommodating to families with children. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of food and customer service provided.

One of my favorite Italian spots in the DC area. The only one I know that's authentic enough to use guanciale in their carbonara.

From a simple homemade pasta dish with butter or bolognese sauce to gnocchi and stuffed ravioli, the food here has consistently been excellent. You can tell that the owner really takes pride in his work and values his customers. My only real gripe is that word has gotten out about Dal Grano, and it's not possible to just drop in anymore on a Friday or Saturday night for dinner without waiting in line outside, which can be particularly challenging during the winter... and their outdoor tent is also far from draft proof. That said, I rather selfishly hope that they don't change anytime soon and risk potentially losing their character or quality.

Hadn't been to this restaurant in years, but was in the area for the day and tried it with my littles. My 5 year old has never eaten the food at a restaurant due to being picky. He ate every bit of his penne noodles with bolognese sauce. The food is great to me, but it's even more better now that we have a place my kid will eat at also.

Updated hours. Closed Sundays Great food. Sad they were closed on Suday. I was. Raving their pastas. Oh well. Lesson learned.

My family and I visited for the first time a few days ago and we'll definitely come back, even though it's a bit of a hike for us. 4 of us had the homemade pastas (delish) and my husband had the pork saltimbocca and he said that was good too. We also all had dessert - either tiramisu or gelato - and again, everything was fantastic! The owner (I think he was the owner) was super attentive and kind, especially to my younger kids (twins, age 8). The restaurant is small - a small bar with seating for about 5 people and then tables for maybe 20-25 people. The orange and lime green décor isn't really my thing but since that's the only thing I didn't care for, I'd say it was a pretty good visit!

Really delicious, perfectly cooked pasta and a generally sized meatball sub. Waiter was friendly and clearly proud of the food served. Very clean!
