“Great place for genuine Thai food. We've eaten there several times, mostly for lunch. We like the green curry pork and summer rolls. We've only tried a few other dishes on the menu but have enjoyed each. If you like Thai food or even think you might like it, give this restaurant a visit.“
“Most sweet and caring owner. The food is always fresh, flavorful, creative and presentable. They always give satisfying portions that make me feel like my money was more than well spent. The restaurant is warm and cozy even though I usually do take out and have only eaten inside once. Also if you like spicy, you can choose your spice level. As someone who always chooses spicy and eats spicy every day the "make me cry" option is no joke. It should be chosen carefully, occasionally, and with a backup plan.Parking: I usually park on the street when visiting. This area is usually busy and parking is typically hard to find.“
“Probably one of my ALL time favorite Thai restaurants. I always order to-go and their curry is massive and absolutely DELICIOUS (the green, red and Panang). Red is my fave, but green is less spicy if you prefer that. It’s honestly even better the next day after all the meat and veggies have soaked in the curry. I usually get with chicken or tofu. Their spicy minced chicken with garlic is also a hidden sleeper but the flavor is PHENOMENAL. Spicy, but you won’t be able to stop eating. Their rice soup is a nice go between if you’re eating spicy dishes. For their noodle dishes, you can pick pretty much any dish you want and it’ll be amazing. Just be aware the wide noodle dishes might be a bit dry so ask for extra sauce. Lastly, they’re probably better when dining in, but the blueberry egg roll dessert does not keep well during travel! I think they also use the same oil as their savory dishes to fry them and you can tell. But overall, this restaurant slaps and is well work your patronage !!“
“This establishment offers a delightful dining experience for those seeking an exquisite sushi meal. The seafood is impeccably fresh, while the appetizers are delectable in taste. The service provided is commendable, and the ambiance exudes a charming and intimate atmosphere. I highly recommend this establishment to those in search of exceptional Asian cuisine in the Richmond, Virginia area. I personally look forward to returning in the future!“
“First of all, the decor is so cute. I highly recommend the cocktail that is mango juice and soju. Goes down way too easy in a way that is dangerous to my bank account. They also have great vegetarian options. My partner loves their veg hot and sour soup (it has a nice kick to it). I got some form of noodles with broccoli and there were roasted pine nuts in it that was a perfect addition!“
“Thurston, thank you for exceptional customer service. Haven’t had this kind of service in a while. Very welcoming, so attentive and genuinely friendly. I would come back just for him. The food is always good. Papaya salad is the best with banana spring rolls. Thank you again, Thurston. God bless you!“
“Our go to Thai place for regular lunch with my better half. Food is fresh and the right size portion. They have bar here and several TVs which usually have some sports playing (or ESPN talking heads). It is seat yourself so it can get crowded on Fridays. Staff is friendly but can get overwhelmed with amount of customers, but they do hustle! Not a huge fan of the stacks of merchandise boxes and materiel sitting in the corner; but it doesn't diminish taste of the pad see ew (my usual). Will keep coming back due to quality, price and location.“
“The sweet lady that was serving me was so helpful and was super nice. Their Tom Kha soup was the BEST i have ever had! Super fresh and so tasty! We should all be supporting local family businesses like this that provide amazing food at reasonable prices!“
“Best Thai food in Richmond, my wife and I have enjoyed their food since they opened and brought my whole family here many times no complaints absolutely delicious I recommend tip tie to anyone, no one can to the delicious food and wonderful staff.Vegetarian options: My wife and daughter both usually get vegetarian dishes with the tofu pad. Thai is very good.“
“Went here on a rainy day while in Richmond. Cute place with tasty drinks and daily happy hour :) i opted for one of their specials, a duck soup and it was okay. The broth was sweet which I didn't love. Reminded me of the sauce on my friends patio Thai fried rice and shrimp. If go back again but try something else.“
“The lunch buffet is amazingly delicious, and a good value. But you cannot serve your own plate. The server serves huge portions, which is not good if you want to sample small amounts of everything. I tried to tell her to give me a small amount, but she didn't understand English, and I don't speak Thai.“
“We had the entire restaurant to ourselves for a little and the customer service was great!!! Even after some customers came in, our customer service was still good. The margarita was delicious and we loved the giant single ice cube in it. The sushi rolls were on the small side, but happy hour price Maki rolls are not bad. The restaurant is well decorated and has cute vibe inside. It was an easy stroll from the canal walk to the restaurant. Food was good. Not the best best taste and quality of Thai food that we have had. 5 for service and atmosphere“
“I went to Mamas on a Friday night with a group of 5 friends. We were seated in the back by the big windows that face Cary St. the restaurant was mildly busy and we were sat promptly. Ambiance on the inside is great. Lovely decorations and the staff were very friendly. The restaurant near the kitchen in the back where we sat had some kind of smell. It wasn’t a horrible smell and I can’t place what it was. It wasn’t the food and didn’t seem like cleaning products, but I forgot about it shortly. Another issue was the table being sticky. An employee overheard us talking about the table and mentioned that during Covid they used a bleach cleaner which stripped the tables, but I suppose were never refinished.Food was great and the kitchen sent it out in an insanely quick. The server and our party were very surprised.I had drunken fried rice with pork at their highest heat level. It was sufficiently hot and appreciated the server being forward about the heat scale. My friends got a chicken drunken noodle, pork drunken noodle and a pad prik. I can’t recall what the final person got, but everyone seemed to have enjoyed their meals.Between us regarding drinks we got two 24 once PBRs. They taste like PBR, but are a large size. Per ounce you’re better off going with the smaller one. We didn’t notice that till we ordered. Maybe they should sell the PBRs at an equal price per ounce. We also got a Rum Punch which was in a fun cup and tasted great.Overall I would recommend stopping by Momma Siams and checking out some delicious food. On a nice day be sure to sit on the patio too!“
“This is by far the best Thai food I’ve had anywhere in the United States. The only place that’s even close to it has LeThai in Las Vegas, but Sabai is on a different level than anything else I’ve had. The curries are rich, spicy, flavorful. All of the ingredients are fresh. The drinks and atmosphere are top notch. It can be very crowded so it’s a good idea to get there early or make a reservation. Try the Panang curry and Laab (larb) Gai. They will not disappoint. You’ll be sweating from the heat of the dishes but it’s worth it.“
“My boyfriend and I pass here quite often and decided to try out of the blue one night. We entered around 830pm and they closed at 10pm. The meal we received was great. We started with their fresh rolls and each got separate and very different dishes. I tried their milk tea which was amazing and refreshing! This is a must try spot. I suggest go on a week day and at night. The place is quite small inside but cozy. ( if you’d prefer not to wait on a table) Please take time to visit. Parking behind the building.“
“The food here is simply incredible! 11/10My only note is the levels of spiciness have varied, erring on the side of being not quite as spicy as we'd like, but this is understandable as it's pretty subjective and many might find it too spicy. This is specifically for hot/very hot spice level, so stick to your guns and ask for Thai spicy if you're looking for real spice!“
