Gold cup wine bar has a descent drink selection. The service is excellent. The bar restaurant has a good ambiance. The quality of food is subpar. It is unfortunate that a such beautiful property has such a mediocre food.
I like Gold Cup Wine Bar for what it is: a quick-ish dinner that is slightly less pricey than Harriman's for guests staying at Salamander. There are "hit's" and "misses." We really enjoyed the pecan fried shrimp and mussels, but the tempura shrimp was mushy and apple pie sundae didn't seem terribly impressive for what was described. Service was decent. I'm consistently happy with the food and service here. Occasionally the bar is closed due to special events at the resort so it's worth calling ahead. 4 stars instead of 5 due to our lunch bill exceeding $500 for 4 adults and 3 kids the last time we were there.
