It’s fast food bbq. I smoke a lot briskets, pork butts, and everything else. Eating here made my stuff taste better than I thought.

Super disappointed in my visit! Ordered brisket for me and my daughter and it was extremely dry. Talked to who I believe was the manager who proceeded to have a bit of an attitude as he gave me new brisket. I can see if I paid $5 but this was a $30 meal for DRY brisket! Never again!

My wife and i ate there about 30mts ago, 1st time and won't be the last.Young lady ( I'm terrible with names) at the register was very helpful and patient, the lady in the dining room kept the place in tip-top shape, we had a minor issue and the manager jumped in right away and was very professional.We'll be back for sure.

You watch the shows on TV... food channels, home channels, even one science channel...BBQ cooking... restaurants to visit etc. Ribs... chicken...and the star, the main focus: BRISKET! Beautiful, tennnnder...and oh so juicy! The reality? Always far from this... especially for brisket. MY experience? Not so tender and always dry. Even at the places supposedly specializing in brisket. I gave up for the most part thinking "yeah -right". Then we tried Mission BBQ. WOW. I mean W O W! Everything I imagined. Extremely tender... juicy like crazy juicy. Ribs? And YEAH! OH... I love hand cut fries... fabulous here. Price is reasonable...quantity is good. And Jean says the same for the pulled pork sandwich!

We have been on a search for the best bbq in Richmond, and I think we may have found it at Mission. Although there seems to have been some subtle changes like the bread and mac and cheese, since we started going here, this place is still great on a couple of different levels. First the staff is always friendly and efficient. They answer any questions you have, keep the building clean, look like they enjoy their job, and they get your food out quick and fresh. The shredded pork is flavored perfectly, with a nice balance of smokiness and seasoning. For those who enjoy their bbq drenched in vinegar, this may not be for you. They have a great selection of dipping sauces, to which I preferred the tupelo honey heat (syrupy spicy honey) and the Memphis belle (thick standard bbq sauce). Both are amazing. The Maggie's mac and cheese is amazing, but i wish they cooked it longer. I like a nice crust on my mac and cheese, and sometimes they can make it a bit too gooey. Overall, this is my favorite bbq in VA. I hope they don't change. I recommend everyone to get out and support this amazing veteran owned restaurant by eating some of the best bbq you will have! As a Veteran it's hard not to love this place. I just wish they had a bigger selection of food. Didn't know they sang the National Anthem everyday at noon. Made my day to see my 1 year old copying everyone else by putting his right hand over his heart.
