“We were over on Portsmouth over the weekend and we decided to have lunch at Barton's Pub & Restaurant. They are conveniently located at 500 High Street in the heart of downtown Portsmouth. Barron's Pub has been around for many years, but this was my first visit. On select occasions they offer live music from some of the local talent in the area. When we arrived they were not busy and we were able to score 2 seats at the bar, our favorite perch. The bartender was handling the group seated at the bar efficiently. Our drink order came out quickly. My Wife really enjoyed her Old Fashioned. They have a decent menu with a good variety of options. My Wife had the French Dip Sandwich served with Hand Cut French Fries. She enjoyed it very much. The Roast Beef was tender and delicious. The Fries were crispy outside but meaty on the inside, a wonderful combination when you can find it. I had a Grilled Pastrami Reuben and I really enjoyed it. It was both hot and delicious. I was very surprised to find a bottle of 12 Year Old Pappy Van Winkle on the shelf. This is my Unicorn, even though I don't drink anymore. I asked how much for a pour and I was pleasantly surprised. My Wife wanted to try it so she asked for a pour. They were kind enough to let her take a picture with the bottle. I'm not sure what the rules are, so I will not reveal the price here. We really enjoyed our first visit to Barron's Pub and we are already looking forward to our next visit.“
“This lil slice of heaven was an absolute joy to visit. a scene of art and great food. With prestine pool tables for your enjoyment ..the smell in the air was pleasant and clean..each item on the walls where just as clean..staff was nice informative and helpful..the owner was just as great I thoroughly enjoyed my time there..so if your looking for a nice bar atmosphere with great amenities this is the place for you..run don't walk to this neglectic bar...“
“best tater tots in the state. been dreaming about those fried mushrooms for months. staff is always super chill and star trek was playing on the tv, hell yeah. owner is friendly and made sure we had a great meal, and recced some great beers (and some NA!) to pair with what we all got. we make sure to stop every time we're in “
“My husband and I, along with my son and his wife, visited here on a Saturday afternoon. The food was excellent! We sampled crab cakes, chicken and rigatoni, steak and a cuban sandwich. Everything was wonderful. Service was great. Like many places in Virginia Beach, this place is noisy with both music and TV going.“
“This is a neighborhood little Pub I love the food the food is awesome everything about the food is great the bartenders have been there for years they know everyone and they're very nice and the drinks are really really good he's just a little hole in the wall but those who understand what I'm trying to say is fun I like the music“
“Be careful, this could become the place where everybody knows your name. I am an occasional visitor but have never felt like an outsider. The bartenders and patrons are very friendly and conversation comes natural. They have pool tables, TouchTunes music system, karaoke nights, separate smoking room, Queens game system and reasonable bar menu.“
