I got in at 1030, when the late night menu starts, intending to have a drink and a quick bite. It took 30 minutes to get a pulled pork sandwich with cold fries. leaving three possibilities: 1) the shtick is that your food comes out cold and takes 30 minutes (the bar was busy, kitchen was not, which is why it's weird the bartender brought my food). 2) the cook was on break, came back in, saw the order, and gave me cold fries, 3) the order sat in the back for 30 minutes. Go for drinks or normal dinner. Damn, this place has been on my bucket list for a while, and while the tiki drink, beer list, and general vibe were awesome, the food situation was not great.

Gotta go at least once for the experience. And the fried cauliflower!Beware the $1.50 mystery beer. We got more than $1.50 worth of laughs though!

Firstly, I am a huge fan of the band and crew and everyone behind the project known as GWAR. We came to town for one of their shows, and my partner is vegetarian, so we needed good vegetarian food. Well wouldn't you know, this place has everything you could ask for. Strong drinks, good veggie-head food, good meat eater food, and the best atmosphere I could ask for. So awesome. Cheers to the front of house and cooks as well. My taste buds aren't biased by my love for the band, literally everything here was 10/10 delicious. Thank you so much for the memory. Cheers from Alaska.

Great bar for the environment and food. Unsure if the bartenders being rude is part of the shtick, but one lady assumed that my whole cash payment was her tip and brought me no change in addition to generally being curt. If it's not posted that you're out of a beer, don't get pissed at me for trying to order it.

Was excited to visit Gwarbar for the first time, the vibe was chill, but the food was mediocre at best, service was trash. Got 2 hotdogs and 2 Hamm's beer and somehow that equaled $34 dollars?. Hope everyone that goes has a better experience the we had.

Been coming to this place since I was a teenager service is always good bartenders are very friendly and make you feel welcome. My wife is not from this state and loves the vegan options here. Would recommend to anymore visiting RVA or if in the area.

First time here. I found parking outside easily on the street. Indoor dining available. Order at the bar and sit down and they will bring the food to your table. You can also sit at the bar. And a good portion size. I had it with the buffalo Motorbreath sauce, which is vegan and a combination of garlic and buffalo sauce. I moved onto the Hail Seitan sandwich with tater tots. The sandwich itself was good, had a unique flavor. It was a good portion size. Lots of tots. I would say that the tots are basic. Nothing special about them. I also ordered the fried mushrooms to go. They were good. It just seems like they were very salty. Good portion size again. Also had their vegan flattus. it was good. Not one that I would repeat, but it was good. I would come back here again and try other things off the menu. Inside decorations are interesting and the metal playing in the background creates a nice hum while you dine.

They were incredibly nice UNTIL it came to finding my ring lost at the establishment. It was a gold Claddagh ring, a family heirloom from my grandmother, but they “found” my one silver ring but could not find my gold one. I am certain it was stolen, on a not at all busy Sunday night, but nobody was willing to pay any attention or check cameras. Disappointing, not a trustworthy establishment
