Nice little place to stop in. Had oatmeal which was alright, the apples helped brighten and give a nice texture change, and a blueberry muffin, which was delicious.

Had a miscommunication about my food order that I brought up to the staff and I requested a refund instead of a remake, which they honored fully and were very understanding. Appreciate this kind of service! Coffee was good though!

Steel cut oatmeal on menu is actually undercooked instant rolled oats.

Super slow service with unfriendly staff. They seemed miffed that I ordered anything but drip coffee. Very over priced for the quality and quantity. Find another local shop. Notice the owner doesn’t respond.

I live Richmond adjacent and I really wanted to give this place 5 stars because my drink and food were always good on the 6 times I’ve visited. However, unfortunately, this place looses stars for several reasons…. Ordering is an ordeal. Unfortunately, the person taking the order has also been less than friendly each time. She seemed miffed about the order. Also, they have literally been out of at least one ingredient, basic stuff, for every order I’ve ever made. Sometimes it’s minor, sometimes it’s no turkey for the turkey sandwich. They are also super super slow for coffee orders and even slower for food. Average wait for a breakfast sandwich, in my experience, is 30 minutes. Way too long. They need better systems all around and a friendlier staff. To sum… the coffee and food are ok if you have 30 minutes to wait.

I’ve been a fan since I moved to the city years ago. Always a pleasant experience. If you haven’t, check out the back patio!
Spicy sausage croissant was pretty tasty, only thing getting in the way of 5 stars is that they overpack their drink with ice. Your drink will be more ice than liquid.

Food was pretty good but definitely disappointed in the coffee. Beans tasted a bit old and the latte I ordered just wasn’t very good. The lavender latte my girlfriend ordered was approaching undrinkable and was genuinely the worst coffee I’ve ever had. Would rather have the worlds oldest and stalest Folgers drip than have another sip. Too much of a mixed bag - there are better options in the area.

The convenience of the location is extremely important to me as I live in Jackson ward. The only thing I can say is be prepared to wait a bit. Not their fault, they're super popular but you aren't popping in for just a quick coffee unless you drink it black. Also, somehow my price is always high but that's on me for always wanting their mozzarella pesto sandwich with my specialty coffee!

Visiting from Washington, DC, my wife and I stopped for breakfast early on a rainy Sunday morning. The spicy sausage, egg, and cheese croissant was exceptionally good! Excellent coffee and a pleasant vibe. I hope Lift adds a branch on DC's Capitol Hill.
