Only one person to service, check in , bring food out and manage the bar. Ran out of plain cumin rice. Food sub par. The hostess is rude( may be because she is the only person doing everything. No smile on face)

The atmosphere and drinks were great.Apart from that, the food was some of the most bland Indian food I've had in Richmond and the portion sizes are not worth the $14-$16 they charge. There was only one other party dining in while we were there and the service was still slow. The icing on the cake was when I paid in cash, the server brought my bill change but none of the coin change I was owed.Definitely would not recommend this restaurant, you have far better dining options in the city.

When we arrived, we were met by a staff member who promptly told us that they were no longer seating anyone for dinner due to a private event at 9. We informed them that we had a reservation for 8pm. We were then seated at a high top table with no menus or direction. That is exactly where the service stopped. We waited 10 minutes without even the courtesy of being offered water or anything else. This is extremely disappointing as we have looked forward to enjoying this, but after looking at recent reviews it seems we are not alone.

Wish I could give an honest rating on the food but I never got to try it, let alone order. The service was horrible, the little there was. Waited 30 minutes at our table and got water… that’s it. Not even a “Sorry for the wait”. I hope the food is better than the service. Wouldn’t recommend going to this place unless you have 4 hours to waste.

This restaurant no longer has a printed menu. Apparently they don't even have a beer list. I did not have my cell phone. When we finally got a phone to see the menu, it was almost impossible to really see the menu. The print on a cell phone is so small that you can only look at one or two items at a time. I am a senior and not as dependent on cell phone as the younger generations. Cell phone menus are age discrimination. I have been a regular customer but wont be going back. Too bad. The food is good. If i learn that menus return I will be back.

Edit: overall flavor is still good but I think the chef has changed or there’s less quality control bc whoever is making Dal Makhni has been mixing daal with what seems to be the curry from something like a paneer makhni. There was barely any dal in there. Hope they can tackle whatever the issue is bc in general this place is good.Previous review: Only ever had takeout. As long as you order mild, it’s been really good. Sounds like per the reviews there have been some off days in the past but more recently it’s been consistently good.

Food was good but server had an attitude. We had brought a small cake and at the end of dinner requested if we can have a matchbox or lighter to light a candle. He flat out said no they don’t have any in the whole restaurant. I asks if he can light it from kitchen and he said they don’t have it in kitchen eitherZ when asked it see manager, he said he is a manager. If indeed that sh true one could have said with an apologia tone or in a friendly way. Way too rude with an attitude right from the moment when we entered. I may visit again but will ask for different server otherwise walk out.

This was probably the worst experience i've ever had at a restaurant. I was doing a secret shopper/food review for this restaurant. When i walked in the servers all stared at me so i had no choice but to walk to the bar to say that i had a reservation...i was sat at 7pm and my food came out at 7:14...there is no way my food was fresh AT ALL... and my food was lukewarm!!! i asked for spicy butter chicken and there was nothing spicy about it...my rice tasted as if it was washed with dish water...the only good thing was the garlic naan and the glass of water i had...0/10 do not recommend and i will not be going back!

food was delicious, our server was very congenial. we would definitely go back and try other items on the menu. I was going to say that service was a little slow, but on second thought, it did take a little time, but why wouldn't it when it was so beautifully prepared and delicious - this takes time!

Nama is an amazing place for dinner! The chicken tikka masala was recommended and it did not miss! The flavors were so authentic and chicken was cooked perfectly! The roti paired with this dish was good. I also ordered a drink called Green Kush. My cousin ordered the shrimp biryani and she was blown away!! The garlic naan paired with that was top tier!! 10/10 will recommend. We’re already thinking about what to order next! Until next time!

This place was an absolute pleasant surprise. In town visiting my cousin and stopped here our first night for dinner. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious and flavorful. Definitely recommend the Saag paneer & tikka masala. Jeera rice was delicious as well. Drinks were interesting and delicious and well priced.

I have been to Nama many times and the food is quite good. Staff is courteous and knowledgeable about the food. I am not a fan of the 18% charge on the bill particularly because my server told us that she didn’t get that $$. I have seen some of the responses from management that say the staff is getting the 18%. At this point I have no idea who is telling the truth. I’m done with this place.

This place had great food ! The cocktails were good . However service is rather lackadaisical. We had to wave down our waitress who seemed to be just chilling at the bar for most of the service . Then I realized on our bill that there was an automatic 18% service charge. This explains why the staff is pretty inattentive .

Excellent food. Malai kofta and paneer were the best. Samosas were fresh and flavorful. Sauces tasted homemade! Pricey and time took forever with Grubhub but it was still hot and delicious.
