Rowland Reviews
Service was awful, waitress was rude and when she noticed we were upset, actively avoided our table. When I asked to speak with a manager the staff said wasn’t on duty that night and tried to add an auto gratuity to my bill. Food is good, but the staff made sure I will never return.
Cozy, fun, friendly, and delicious cuisine. Loved the Calamari and eggplant!

Rowland is a cozy neighborhood restaurant, popular for its fun nights at the bar, and offering a variety of outstanding and delicious cocktails, along with a good wine selection. The menu features intriguing appetizers, such as fish rolls, bruschetta, and butter bean cakes, which are well-seasoned and delectable. The chilled peach soup is summer perfection, and the bread is the best ever. The pasta is fresh, and the scallops are perfectly cooked. However, the main courses may be disappointing due to small portions and underseasoning. For instance, the eggplant and rainbow trout dishes could benefit from more salt and acid. Desserts like the apple croissant and tiramisu are small but pleasant.
Service can be inconsistent—sometimes excellent, other times lacking, with slow drink delivery and inattentive staff. The pacing of the courses, however, is commendable. The atmosphere is intimate and dark, with upbeat techno music and the option of outdoor seating in good weather. Although parking can be challenging, the restaurant offers a surprising and enjoyable dining experience. It is highly recommended to make reservations in advance.
In summary, Rowland is a charming neighborhood restaurant with delightful appetizers, amazing food, and a pleasant ambiance, but inconsistent service and underseasoned main courses might detract from an otherwise enjoyable dining experience.
