It's quant and esthetically pleasing. This restaurant is small with a calm sea based theme. Everything was excellent from the staff, the food, and the astomphere. Clean and delicious ?. The homemade tea and tarter sauce are amazing. You have to get the rice pudding and crab balls next time.

Second time trying this spot off the strength that it’s local and black owned. It’s honestly missing something for my personal liking. Called in my order over the phone, whoever answered didn’t come off pleasant. Upon entering the restaurant, my food wasn’t ready yet which was no problem I didn’t mind waiting but the cashier gave me cold vibes and the impression that I was bothering them when I asked for extra sauce/receipt etc. As for the food, it’s not something I’d want to eat again. I thought since it was a new restaurant, when I initially tried, they were getting their kinks out but years later it’s still not great. The crab cake isn’t real lump crab meat, it’s more of a breaded type patty which gives budget. The bread was burnt but I did enjoy the side of yams. Definitely sweet and savory. I wish it was a better experience for me but this was another time they just did not deliver. Welp! The search continues for good soul food in Richmond. Doesn't land here for sure.

This was my 2nd time dining at Shrimps. The owners are always so accommodating! My friend had a food allergy and the owner offered to prepare a meal just for her, they also offered to prepare an appetizer that was taken off the menu (we declined) the food is so good and fresh, the drinks are great too, all you need is one ($5) I gave 4 stars for service because of the waitress, she’s nice but she’s a bit slow and for the place to be so small she shouldn’t be forgetting this that and the third and should keep your drinks refilled. We will definitely be back to support! Good eats and black owned, I love it
Very clean, friendly service and great food. I ordered the 2 pc. fish with collard and mac and cheese. greens were cooked perfectly tender with just the right amount of seasoning. Fish was fried perfectly and mac and cheese was so good I might order a pan for easter dinner.Prices are reasonable and they have specials.The space is small and intimate and nicely decorated . Parking in that area is a lil tricky. We parked in the parking lot on North Ave near the corner od Brooland Park and walked a block over. Definitely worth a visit.

This was a very cute and quaint restraunt. They had some valentine decorations up that really made the place a cool vibe. The waitress was very friendly I enjoyed the service. I ordered take out and she was very friendly during my wait. I had the fried catfish dinner and that was delicious. I will most certainly check them out again. We chose this place based off a reviewer of VA's hot dining spots.We decided not to eat her for one they were out of chicken and salmon.Chicken wings are one of my wife's favs foods and I don't eat much other meats outside of fish and salmon is my fav.This pretty much turned us away from making this place our date night restaurant.

The place has great food but trying to even place an order is near impossible . I attempted to place an order on yelp or doordash and neither was available, so I decided to call . Called and someone answered and they put me on hold and I was on hold for about 20 minutes so I hung up figuring they forgot about me …. When i called back, someone answered and then immediately hung up so I tried calling back again and never got an answer . This place would be so much better if they customer service was better and if I was actually able to physically place an order .
